I heard it was cool. Selling Acuras on the mainland sucks that's why I got out of it.

This board has changed a lot over the years. Our DSM used to suggest sales consultants check in here to read news and discussion. They have stopped recommending the site recently.

They don't want to hear anything negative?

And its really too bad there any anymore 'good' salesman with an actual love of cars posting. The ones we do get are just trying to hawk a sale. Besides you of course.

I think there are at least a couple sales guys besides Colin but I can't recall their usernames or their location. They don't post much.

I never get the impression that car salesmen particularly like cars. I don't even think they like selling stuff, they just do it because they have some natural ability to talk other people into doing things, and auto sales must be the most common transactions that involves actual bargaining and therefor such people fall into it by accident.

On the one hand this board is made up of enthusiastic owners, not representative of the general public, but on the other hand it might be good for a car salesmen to sound more like one of us then what we get at the present, which is someone who talks about the cars like they're pieces of meat. I suspect they don't browse the forums simply because they'd rather spend their freetime not doing anything work related.

I have no idea why, but as Zig Zigler says,"A positive mental attitude won't let you do anything..............but it will let you do everything, better, than a bad attitude will."

There is a lot of negativity on the board, but that in itself is not the issue. IMO it's the lack of rational discussion that used to flow freely. There are also less 'leaks' posted here than there were back in 2003.

Was it RDX? I guess so, I think that was the last one that I went to on the mainland.

There is a lot of concern about the economy. We have lost in the last month alone: Aloha Airlines (BK after 62 years), ATA airlines (BK), Molokai Ranch (closed), Weyerhauser Paper (closed), and one Norwegian Cruise ship.

I get the feeling that has as much to do with Honda cracking down as it does anything else. Honda has always been anal about the secrecy of their cars in development, but they fail to realize that a well timed leak that is just enough to whet people's appetite may do more for them than complete silence. Plus, if there are controversial elements to the upcoming vehicle that they are uncertain about, they should use public reaction to gauge how it may be received by the populace.

To me, the problem is that there is no public consensus. People complain that cars designed by committee lack passion, can you imagine how bland a car designed by general public opinion would be? Many people forget that a car is styled to be 'good' for 5 years.

They already had it but we didnt send anyone from out store. Mostly because we figured that we'd have the cars here at the same time a the event. Looks like it would have come true if they hadn't stopped our cars in port. The car have been on the island for a week now!
