Anyone driven the 2011 Infiniti G25?
Well, the 2011 Infiniti G25 is out - V6 2.5L engine with 7-speed automatic, 218 HP, 187 lb-ft of torque, about 3500 lbs in weight.
MSRP
$31,400 for the G25
$32,800 for the G25 Journey
$34,400 for the G25x AWD.
This car seems attractive at its price point, although the lack of navigation and back up camera are minor drawbacks. The only major option appears to be the sunroof ($1000), and you can't get a navigation system or a manual transmission at any trim level.
A few months ago, there was a thread (now closed) comparing the G25 and the TSX, but there was a lot of speculation without much data.

Has anyone test driven or purchased this car? Any thoughts, comments?

no navi is pretty weak, and i am not bashing the g25 here cause im sure its a nice car, but i would think it should at least be available as an option for those willing to pay
the technology in the tsx, imo, is one of its big selling points. Even more so now with the new navi system.

I drove the G25 when it first came out and traded my G35 for my TSX. The G25 was heavy and thus it felt slow and not nearly as fun as the TSX and not anywhere near the G35. Was thinking about replacing the gf's 2007 TSX with one but somehow I ended up replacing my 2007 G35 with a TSX?!?!
Both have their positives and negatives.
The price difference and lack of options on the G25 is limiting sales greatly. I refused to buy a G25 bc of the lack of power, but then I ended up with the TSX. Just feels lighter and more tossable.
I do miss my G35 every now and then though...

Thanks for the comments - doesn't sound like too many people have driven the G25 to see how it compares to the TSX.
While perusing the Infiniti website to gather the data for this post, I was surprised by the large number of offerings that Infiniti has - coupes, convertibles, etc - that Acura doesn't. Maybe the Sport Wagon TSX is the first offering to expand the Acura product line. Outside of the RDX and MDX, it doesn't seem like Acura is really offering anything that exciting in sedans. No one buys the RL because it doesn't represent a good value or exceptional prestige/luxury in its segment (and its look are stodgy to my eyes), and Acura really shot itself in the foot with the current generation TL and its questionable styling (more controversial than the Chris Bangle-era BMWs?).
I hope that the TSX line will remain strong and become more diverse with time - first a wagon, then a true sport package (a V6 that's clearly superior to the I4 in terms of handling/suspension, and not just an engine upgrade, something along the lines of BMW's M series or Audi's S4), and then maybe a coupe.
Maybe it's time to reintroduce the RSX?
