Any help me with OBD2 Port?
Hi all,
y'all might be thinking how stupid thread this is but... anyone take a pic of where the obd2 port is?
I do have gps tracking service (nimbo gps) installed on the car and it's not working so according to the customer service, they said I should able to take the connector (gps) from the obd2 port and sent back the connector for a new one.
The thing is that I did find the obd2 port right below where the traction button is... but there is nothing... or is there "other" obd2 port located somewhere else in the car?
I want to keep the subscription so I will know where my car is or just in case I get it stolen... and it's great to know where I have been with my car

when i installed one of those the unit replaces the OBD plug with its own obd plug. and the original obd is plugged into that behind the one you see.
so remove that lower panel and get you head in there and see if that looks like what is happening.

Can you find the OBDII port?
Is there something plugged into the port?
Generally speaking, GPS trackers intended to deter theft are hidden somewhere in the car and not just plugged into the OBDII port.
GPS trackers plugged into the port are commonly used to track employees driving routes or by insurance companies.

there is nothing to SEE at the OBD port when they GPS is piggyback. from the outside it looks OEM. you dont see that behind the port that you can see is the OEM port plugged into each other.
so nothing to TELL from the outside.
I have seen about a half dozen that do the same.
not saying the OP's does but ALL that I have seen to date use the piggyback method.

Wow!! thanks for the picture...
I did look into the right place...
I don't know why there is nothing there when their customer service told me to take the device off the obd2 port and send it back in... i guess it is hidden somewhere in the car and they are not expertise on it or something..
let me look elsewhere now...

I'm not really sure what's going on there, but that black thing with the two round cables coming out of it doesn't look OEM. I'd guess that is part of your GPS thingy.
I cant really see your obd2 port in that picture but it's probably just the angle.
Check out that corded dongle and see where it goes/comes from. Seems like the best bet.

Can you take a picture from the outside looking in so we're looking at the left side?
The black harness thing seems to have the trapezoid shape of the OBD2 port. Makes me think the white connector is part of your GPS thing and the black harness is an inline splitter or adapter.

The white thing with wire appears to be the factory OBDII connector that has been removed from its bracket in order to change its orientation, and then plug in the black wire.
Just remove the black plug from the white connector, and follow that black wire and it will take you to the device you are looking for.
