Am I going to regret giving up my '13 TSX for '14 TL
Guys,
Please convince me that this is a bad move.
As we all know that TLX are coming so they are really selling the TLs 6-7K off MSRP this Memorial weekend. Im scheduled to go the dealer this weekend to test drive both TL Advance and TL SH-AWD Advance.
Have not decide this part yet, Base vs SH-AWD?
Overall I think TSX is a good car but I think TL is better.
What you guys think?
Thanks.

Figure out your needs. Do you want/need a bigger car? Do you want/need more power?
In either case, test drive it. Maybe you'll love how the TL drives better than the TSX in other ways. I'd say SH-AWD if anything, though.
Personally, I've owned a 2G TL and I'm on my '13 TSX. I've decided I don't need a bigger car, and I love the punchy feel of my inline 4 over my previous TL's V6.
So what would you do when the TLX comes out and you swapped to a 4G TL? I think even if you do enjoy driving the 4G TL more than the TSX, you might still regret buying it because you would've wished you bought a TLX instead.

Had a 2G TL and loved that thing, tranny died so i moved on to a 2012 tsx, i didnt want it at first but after i finished modding it i fell in love. Wanted more power so i moved on to a s2k and now im in the market for another sedan, i love the s2k but my ass belongs in a sedan, i just cant stay away from the comfort and big body cars. I did test drive a 14' tl sh-awd and loved it but its out of my price range brand new. Been looking for 2-3 months now for a 09-10 tl-shawd 6spd but they're hard to find!

I loved the 2G TL as well but I probably went through 3 trannies in its lifetime.
EDIT:
Tony how's the s2k? It's been my "dream" car since high school haha.. I'm thinking of getting one after I get my other priorities in check.

Why do I want to change cars? My car is a year old.
What don't I like about the TSX? Will the TL resolve that problem?
What do I really like about the TSX? Will I miss that in the TL?
Just because a car is a "good deal" doesn't mean you need to swap out (what I assume is) a perfectly good TSX. The mere fact that the TL is bigger and more expensive doesn't necessarily make it better.
You might want to look at my post here.
I tend to change cars every couple of years but when my TSX got badly whacked last year I immediately traded it for another one and I haven't had "new car fever" since.
Changing cars for the right (for you) reason is fine but ask yourself why you really want to change.

You know, there is a reason that the TL's (and TSX's) are on fire sale right now. They aren't selling and the bottom will drop out once the TLXs hit the ground.
I believe (maybe it is just wishful thinking) that the prices of used TLs will drop while the value of the TSXs will stay steadier.
The TSX is a smaller, lighter car while the TL is directly sized to the TLX. The price of the TLX will be closer to the TL than to the TSX and where the RL was replaced by the RLX, so will consumers view the TLX as a direct replacement for the TL with the TSX being dropped.
The TSX will be the last of the Acura/Honda sedans sold in the US that are built in Japan.
I see the newer TLs taking a huge hit in value over the next couple of years, so that "good deal" now might not be so good after all.
You should never buy a car based on "good deal". You should buy a car because it fits your needs and your wallet. If a "sale" is the only reason that you are contemplating a new car then you may want to reconsider.
There is one exception - when buying the identical car from a different manufacturer. When I was buying a Tahoe in the late '90's I price cross shopped it with the equivalent Yukon and the GMC dealer just happened to be more willing to deal. The cars were identical otherwise - to the point that the trim on one side of the car said "GMC 1500" and on the other side said "Tahoe". They were built on the same line, at the same time and somebody screwed up with the badges.

Wow Ceb, you sound like my dad, the preaching, omg. Anyway, to be fair what you said does make sense.
Here are the list of what I need/like on this TL that TSX does not have:
1. Back seat space, I got couple of teenagers. I dont want to drive wife's SUV on weekends, slow as snail. Also, teenagers prefer the TSX ELS sound system.
2. Ventilated front seats. Here in Texas its probably the "holy grail" of tech especially on leather.
3. Blind spot monitor/sensor. I dont stay on one lane and I got so many close calls on my TSX and I hate putting those small circle mirrors on top of the side mirrors.
4. I really want to try this SH-AWD, most of the people are saying its one of the best handling sedan around. Im sure it will be very costly if I will wait and buy the new TLX with SH-AWD (or new name?).
Thanks for all your comments.

If you are looking for AWD (do you really need it in TX?) then the TL is better than the Accord of course but otherwise the Accord beats the TL.
One huge (pun intended) downside of the TL is the gigantic turning radius.

Yea trannys was the only thing holding back the tl.

I have really grown to like the TL and I am kicking around getting something newer as well and it's on the list. I had one for a loaner for a few days (I had a 3G TL for a loaner too back when they were in style, and I fell in love with them then) and I enjoyed driving it quite a bit. Some cons for me:
- No fold down rear seat. I don't use this much at all anymore but when I need it, I am very glad I have it.
- I drove the SH-AWD and it was awesome but the MPG did kind of suck; I do mostly city driving. However, my TSX isn't too good to me in this area either.
- The size (but this is also a pro in some ways, see below) and it is a little more challenging to park in the city; I am able to squeeze my TSX into some spots that I just couldn't in the TL.
Pros:
- Loved the extra room, it was very spacious and dare I say that I even felt a little more comfortable in it vs. the TSX. I rarely have more than one passenger in my car so rear room is a non-issue for me in that regard however, I do like to put things on my seat and floors when needed and the TSX does not always work out well for me in this area. With the TL I had no problem getting things in/out of the car.
- The tech is better than the TSX's (disclaimer: I have an '09 so that is what I am comparing it to, but even the TL's is a bit dated now). But regardless, the push button start is nice and the Advance features are nice to haves too.
- The power. Yes, it's a heavy car but did that thing MOVED when I needed it too!
- The extra gear in the auto tranny is nice.
- The car felt a little more solid than my TSX.
I'm sure prices will continue to drop as the TLX's debut gets closer and if a killer deal comes along, I may consider it.

I also had an s2k before the TSX.
I miss the s2k but, it is a weekend car. I would love to pick up another one or an wrx/sti hatch.
And back to the topic I would only go for SH-AWD TL. that is it.
