Air Conditioning in 2011 TSX

Seems to me that the TSX's air vents does not blow out as much air compared to other cars. Even when the air flow is turned up to the max and set to the mode where only air comes out from top and not the bottom (feet area), it seems pretty weak.

My old car (2005 Accord) blows out as much air at 70% when compared to my TSX at 100%. Also the AC in general doesn't seem as cool even when temperature is set to a low degree. Well the coolness factor might be due to the fact I have a black TSX and my Accord was white, who knows.

But yeah, do you guys feel the air doesn't blow out as strongly on the TSX compared to other cars or is my air vents messed up!

true, but they are very efficient at cooling though, I found.

I agree. I know it is not quite as strong as my old TL-S but it is more than adequate. I noticed you have a 2011 with the rear seat ducts. Have you tried shutting those down. It should provide more blower power to the remaining ducts.

When i test drove a 2011 tsx i noticed the same thing. The car was sitting in the hot sun all day and took forever to really get cool. I can do the same thing in my 03 rl and it cools very quickly.

I actually found the car to cool very quickly, but just no powerful fan blowing in my face, which was a surprise.

I have the same sentiment. The 09 Accord I drove seemed to cool down the car faster then my TSX now...does having a dark interior with leather affect temp cool down that much?

Hmm, not sure you can shut that down but I guess I'll investigate.

I have noticed the AC's effectiveness changes dramatically depending on outside temps and when it is really hot outside, the car seems to take forever to cool and I need to drop the temp way down for a bit. Yes, I know that all cars' systems are effected by outside temps, but I have found my TSX to be more so than others.

i just noticed that too but what i did was
put the speed to max.
and then if you hit AUTO. It sprays 10 times faster.
i think the A/C is just for the nice air but the AUTO is to cool the whole car as fast as possible

The thing I don't like when set in "auto" is that is goes to "recric" way too easy. I prefer to have fresh air coming in.

i prefer fresh air too, but recirc helps to cool it down faster. easier to cool air that is already being cooled =P

You can accomplish the same thing in manual mode by going max with fan and pushing the recirculate button.

Yesterday my a/c seemed to cooldown the car pretty fast...but I had been driving with windows open right before I turned it on.

While we're on this topic, if I have the a/c off but the vents opened, the display still says the temp that I had it at before..does that mean it'll blow cool air even though the a/c isn't on? Obviously it won't go as cold as if the a/c was on but does it try to get to that temperature?

I guess that extra two cylinders pushes popsicles out faster. No complaint.

This is something I have noticed too...my 2009 TSX seemed to more noticable when it was working. My 2011 seems to get the job done just as well but without any drama. I'm sure alot of it is just perception. Also, the recirculation occurs automatically (the light goes on) while in AUTO mode when it is hot outside and I first get in. I just figured it was smart enough to do so to cool the car quicker at first as the recirc light goes back off later on during the drive. There definitely seems to be a good logic controlling the AC system in these cars...no complaints here!

Is there any way to put the climate control in fan only mode? It seems that the temperature has to be set. The best I can do is to turn off the AC. But this won't disable the heat if the temperature is set higher than the cabin temperature.
