Advance Cargo Net - How to?
I bought this for my trunk and cannot figure out the install...even with the instructions. They've got this thing hanging from places that don't seem to exist. Plus, it comes with a billions parts....did Ikea make this thing??
Anyone have any pointers? Theres about 8 hooks (if i recall correctly) that get installed. Four were easy, the others seems to go in places that don't exist. The install pics are....not the best.

I guess its called the Advance cargo net for a reason lol. But seriously, gotta love it when they give you piss poor instructions and over-complicate things. I wouldn't be surprised if they other places for those extra hooks were left out somehow, atleast I wouldn't be suprised if that were the case on my car after all the FMYFF's (First Model Year Fun Finds as i fondly refer to them now) that I've experienced on my car. Good luck with it and hopefully someone else that has one can chime in here.

It requires a special Riviet Nut Tool... my dealer offered to rent it to me or pay big $$ to have them install the trunk accessories.

So instead I went for the Soft Cargo Organizer instead...

OMG! That's insane. Those are not the instructions I received....no power tools were involved. Guess I got the "wave your wand" instructions. I'll have the dealer handle this one.
Thanks for the link, CybrRdr.

One thing I don't like is the whole cargo net is kind of floating in the trunk it's more like a separator that splits the trunk into 4 zones, but the bottom is not attached to the trunk. So small items can still move from 1 zone to the other easily.
I'll take a pic of it later and post it here.

Okay, that is one bad a$$ cargo net! I wonder if it could be modified to fit the 1G trunk.... Might have to give it shot. The 2G grocery bag holders fit great in my 1G.

where the hell am I suppose to take River Nut Tool? I just visited 2 of my dilership and they said they do not have it yet. How the hell can they sell the stuff without proper tools? Very angry...

A alternate solution is to just check with your local tool stores to see you you can rent/buy a rivet nut tool.

I couldn't find one anywhere, so I just went to Home Depot and got some 6mm nylon lock nuts. Well, for the grocery hooks that's what I did. I had to get other hardware to make the cargo net work. Which, I went for the 08/09 Accord net BTW. It was a royal pita, but I finally got it.

I would bypass the rivet nut tool requirement entirely. I installed the cargo net in my car quite a few weeks ago and found that the place they wanted you to use the rivet nut tool was retarded. Bought some self-drilling screws and screwed them into the sheetmetal near where they were supposed to be. Made the install 100X easier and I didn't need any special dealer tools.
