Acura motor oil?

I get my oil at local Honda dealership. I use the 0w20 and have been buying the blend because that's what they had, but last time they also had Honda 0w20 oil in full synthetic as well. I bought the blend, but next time am tempted to get the full synthetic version.
I've heard rumors that Honda oil is Kendall. Has worked fine for me so far for 20K, no noticeable oil consumption (first few thousand miles I added about 1/2 quart in 4K or so, but not lately). I change it every 5K or so and use the Honda filter.

I noticed this a while back on this forum -- does nobody use oil from the dealership? I was worried about oil being so thin, so I figured I'd try whatever dealer sells, and it's fairly cheap. Is Acura oil different from the Honda oil (black bottle with HG written on it)?

As you can see (well, read) based on the posts here, no one really knows, and I wouldn't be surprised if each dealer cuts his own deal with a local supplier. But as Justn stated, though I've always used full synthetic, as long as you change the oil and filter when necessay, you should be fine no matter what you use (though I'd recommend using what the manual calls for)(5W-20 for the 09-010, 0W-20 for the newer cars).

I would hope that the HG 0w20 oil from Honda dealer is fine to use, in which case you can get it in either blend or full syntetic. I bet the Acura bottle is same oil as the HG blend version, I can't imagine them using a different formula just because the car is named differently. It would also not make sense for Acura to use the more expensive full synthetic version when it isn't required.

Back in 2012, the Acura service guy told me all modern Acuras use synthetic blend except for the RDX Turbo, which needs full synthetic. Don't know about the new RDX which is a naturally aspirated V6.

Not sure my dealer even uses quart bottles.
I watched a tech do my oil change. He had an empty plastic bottle with a handle that held 6-7 quarts (a guess) and asked if i wanted to see him fill it from the barrel kept in another part of the service area to make sure he filled it with the correct oil (Ow-20), as i went in to replace the week befores oil change that stated 5w-30 on repair order.

You're right, and I stand corrected (though is still appears that the OP's question hasn't been answered). Acura IS Honda, so I have zero doubt that their fluids (and everything else in common) are the same products with a different label.
