The car comes with a 4 yrs/50,000 miles warranty which includes the battery.
I took my car in for an A service last week, they load tested the battery and it failed, with 45K miles/ 74K km on the odometer and 2.5 yrs old, they replaced the battery under warranty.

I think it turns off eventually, I've done the same in my Accord more times than I care to count. Battery still runs strong (ish).
