2nd Gen Tsx question
#2
i highly doubt it.
then we would be encroaching on TL territory, plus the TSX doesnt need to be any heavier... but maybe in the future they will so they can offer a direct alternative to xdrive/quattro/4matic in their entry segement like the 3/a4/c300
if at all then maybe in the next generation.
i would have bought this in SH-AWD though had the option been available.

Damn, wish they release that thing. I'll be in the market for a car in a couple months and so recently i've been doing a lot of research on cars. I looked at the WRX, which initially seemed interesting but was not what i was looking for. I'm looking for an AWD, entry level luxury vehicle in the between 35-40k. It seems the TL would be the car that meets closest to my needs.

If you like Acura's then the TL sounds about right. Also consider an 04-08 RL which also has SH-AWD system. It really comes down to what you personally enjoy driving so get out there and test drive everything!
i actually have one of the competitors entry level luxury vehicles in 4WD variety and believe it or not i prefer my TSX for my drives but it will all come down to personal preference

If it's traction you're looking for, consider a good set of snow tires. You can pickup a 4 snow tires mounted on wheels from sites like Tirerack.com for $800-$1000. Not only do you get the benefit of significantly improved winter traction, but you also save wear & tear on your primary tires & wheels. (If you keep your car long enough, the snow tires pretty much pay for themselves since they actually cost less than a good set of all-season or performance tires.)

No not necessarily, the reason why I'm looking for an AWD vehicle is for the mountains when i go snowboarding and mountain biking. I live southern california and so we're fortunate to be able to have all the weather elements available at certain times of the year.

If Acura plans on becoming a Tier 1 car company, i believe that it's imperative for them to have an AWD version of the TSX. I'd say in the next gen it'll be here.

On a few different levels, it just doesn't make sense for Honda to offer an AWD TSX (sedan or wagon). The biggest reason being that it would cannibalize sales from an already weak TL sales situation for the sedan, and the wagon would have a direct impact on RDX sales if they offered it in AWD. Also...... I'm pretty sure that far fewer people cross shop the TSX with the 3 series BMW and the Audi A4 than many here may think. Comparably equipped, there's a huge price differential between those cars (5 figures) and the TSX. And though we're reluctant to admit it, the BMW and the Audi really do reside in a different market. And the necessary pricing point would push an AWD TSX into more direct competition with those cars where it may not perform as well (from a sales standpoint). This is also of course why the TSX has been so successful here. The car has never really had any direct competition from a marketing standpoint (the main reason we have two), and I'd assume Honda would not mind keeping it that way. Though it's been on the market for 8 years, it's still virtually impossible to find another car with the TSX's sporting intentions, level of standard equipment, base price, and slightly upscale status. This too will allow the wagon to be waaaay more successful here than I think even Honda realizes (and I've been saying as much for over a year). Time may prove me wrong, but since that car has no direct competition either, the shadow market for a real station wagon (versus even the cute-utes like the RDX and the like) should dictate that demand will easily surpass supply. These things, along with Honda's reputation for reliability and driving prowess, have made the TSX a huge success (relatively speaking of course). And since the V-6 experiment hasn't been particularly successful, I doubt that Honda has the stomach to fool too much more with their best seller.
