haha, I kid. It was a quote from SNL that for some reason I always think of. The skit was kind of dumb but that quote always makes me laugh.

Roach just crawled across my face while I was asleep, really freaked out! I would man up except this is the second time in the last month. I really want to fucking slaughter every roach known to exist on planet earth. I would love to see hundreds of thousands of those mother fuckers die. I want them to suffer! My bed is the one comforting thing I have after long day of work and now I cant even enjoy that without being FUCKING paranoid! Once I found that mother fucker I unloaded so much bug killer on him he turned white. Wasn't killing him fast enough, resolved to get bleach... sprayed bleach on him until he couldnt move. now Im on azine....

Joe you dirty.

In college I had a pet hissing cockroach. His name was Franklin. It was more like a beetle though, since it was slow and didnt fly. I am still very much creeped out by normal house roaches. They run too fast.

lol let me post this up see if I get any good suggestions from you guys.

A new job fell into my lap yesterday with better pay, more room for growth--- they want me to start immediately, doing a 2 week notice in my current job might compromise the new position

My current job has no idea and the whole company completely loves me - from CEO to CFO to the warehouse employees --- I dont want to burn any bridges whats the best way to do this??

Im in accounting if that helps

^maybe post in the ramblings section.
I know that we have hiring managers, accountants, and all sorts of different experienced gentlemen on this board.

if it were me, I'd talk to my current boss and ask for a raise and whatever leverage to stay.

i'll post in ramblings section...

Counter offers never work, now the company will look at you to perform more and take on new responsibilities to justify the raise

u can tell the new company that u'd love to work with them BUT policy requires you to submit a 2 week notice and you can't get around it. if they really want you, they should understand. that's if u really want to take the new job. if not, you can try to leverage but meh

do this, but don't mention you have another offer. Just say, I was hoping to see if we can negotiate a salary increase seeing as I feel as though I'm not compensated commensurate to my experience and value to the company. If they love you, like you say, the raise should seem expected. I used to work with a Director of a company and he said he was willing to give people raises and to shut them up, if they asked. He wasn't going to go out of his way to give raises. If you're talented, nobody wants to see you go. But, again, play it off as if you want a raise. Do you get 6 month reviews that consider wage increases?

Also, the other company is likely a POS place to work at. Every firm is aware of the standard HR procedure, which stipulates a 2 week's notice. The fact that they are willing to rescind an offer based on your request to provide proper notice to your current company is an absolute testament to their cavalier attitude towards talent and human resources.

Also consider this: jobs in finance/accounting rely heavily on recommendations as you go more senior, burning bridges shouldn't be an option this early in your career.

Burning bridges not career wise in my case me and my CFO are actually friends go to Yankees game--- we even flew to watch SEC games down south and he gave me his season tickets to Army games

Im not saying the new job doesnt care about the two week rule-- I just feel like there are sooo many things to do that Im needed asap and the position is highly sought after... and I would rather accomodate the new job over my current

...Ive received two raises since I started -- and still not close enough to what I would be getting

two different tastes i guess ,the z's interior is better than the brz\frs. 0-60 times are better, and appearance are opinion based. I driven both cars and i enjoyed the z better just my personal preference. oh and its only a 600lbs weight difference between the two

Nope. It is not based on taste, but actual testing by people whose opinion are worth listening to.

If everyone says it tastes like shit, but you say it tastes like chicken, does that make you a hipster?

^it is based on taste...people think the tl is better than the tsx, but because we like the tsx much more, it outweighs objective reasoning.

Nothing about being a hipster like i said its based on taste you might find reasons to like it. price, looks, specs etc but people have different views and styles if not the world would be a boring place, on paper the brz\fr-s still loses to the z :-p lol jk have a good one man

Need more info, what does "fall into your lap" mean? Did someone just call you out of the blue and offer you a job? Have you been looking?

I reserve comment until this little tidbit of information is offered.

benefits and salary are one thing, but loyalty counts for alot in career growth. nobody wants someone, no matter how good, who will jump at the first better job offer. talk to your current boss, ask for better benefits/raise. if he is cool about it, stay. if he's a dick, offer your two week

I know. Was just seeing how naive he really is. My alternative response was, "I guess I don't live life from 0-60, as a stoplight warrior."

Interior is nicer, sure, but the performance is still lackluster.
