Goodbye.
Now, if you got the auto and want to use it as a luxury cruiser, then you have bigger problems than making decisions on cars.

For a new car @ $25K, the FRS/BRZ is not a bad deal. However, if this is your play car, a used but well maintained E46 M3 would be my choice along with EVO9 MR, STi, 350/370Z, the list goes on....

Goodbye.
See odus, if those are your reasons for not liking the Toyobaru, then you should have said "get a Mustang" and I would instantly know what to reply to you with.
It all makes sense now.

wow no the frs is nice dont get me wrong but for a new car thats RWD in that price range the genesis is much funner car from the beginning. I would have kept mine if the transmission wasn't so horrible. There is a guy down here that has a boosted BRZ and he even said this is the way the car should have came from the factory. And mustang you can go fuck your self.

neither saleen or the normal mustang is in under 30k though i was getting at the point if i was going to spend 26k or 27k on a rwd 2 door car the frs would not be at the top of my list yes it handle good and slides very easy but for everyday driving i would prefer a genesis. I cant think of any other cars under 30k that are rwd and worth a darn.

You see me, I CU2
I gotta go with an FR-S on this one for sub-30k, that thing was made for curves and is a pure drivers car. I understand the whole underpowered argument but rly most normal drivers aren't "skilled" enough to even capitalize on the extra....say 50 hp etc IMO. I think an FR-S/BRZ with properly setup aftermarket suspension would be quite the fun car.

I'd rather get a RX-8 than a FR-S, it doesn't matter if it's a rotary (not knocking rotaries but some consider it different just because it's a rotary). RX-8 is badass, I don't like the looks of the FR-S, and I don't like Toyota either.

nobody likes rotaries... if you wanna hear all the reasons why you should never own a rotary, ask benben

Sure but I'd wait till the next gen of the rotaries come out since you guys said Mazda figured out why they weren't as reliable and finally fixed the problem. Anyone know when?

Same. Exact. Situation. Also very happy with my TSX and the way it sounds and the way it does not have turbo lag

Hey now!!! I did my research and ended up with the last gen RX-8 (09-11) instead of previous gen rotaries FDs included. Most of the reliability issues were addressed in the last gen 13B Renesis motor. For the most part, rotaries are fairly reliable if properly maintained and driven. By driven, I mean you have to rev it and push it like you stole it regularly to blow out any potential carbon build up. Otherwise, there's nothing like it and the SE3P (RX8) chassis is one of the best handling cars made. Fingers crossed, but rumors has it that the next RX(?) from Mazda will be a 2015 model...
