Yeah we get to see lots of nozzle tips at work!
You have to be very gentle with the tips, even harsh rubbing will cause damage. We don't want damage because we want the max nozzle flow rate through it's main hole.
On other components we get really dirty slots... So we clean the slots and send them back to run as many cycles as possible before the slots are too damaged/ old for use.

Everyday I pass by a BWP TSX SE and a CBP TSX SE and I get so jelly because I really want the SE Aero kit!
I called Acura Parts today, found a dummy SE VIN number and they pulled up the prices for me.
$1,700 for the front, side and rear. They tell me everything is painted except the rear, so I'm assuming all in all, this whole kit will cost me around $2000?

Sometimes we get some foreign components with slots we have never even seen before!! I mean at first glance the slots are so dirty and grimy we don't even know what to do. Before anyone gets to touch the slots, I have to go and measure max width of each and every slot hole. Talk about big slots!! Buttt in the end it all works out.

Wow. Looks like a missed a lot since I've been away from here for a bit.
So I was out and about burnin' gas out in the sticks and decided to do a video and then break down the 0-60 times. Holy crap it is slow! It's almost painful to watch! I think it was close to 7.8 seconds. Granted, it is an auto, but I had it in manual mode and also forgot to take off the VSA so I had a little wheel spin that it corrected for but it never actually cut power so it was a good run.
Showing 42-43mph in 1st all the way to redline and 70 in second just before shifting to third. So anyone that wants to argue that these cars can't do 70 in second gear can watch the video and then proceed to suck it. But the 0-60, once I clocked it I was horrified.
Now I want a faster car again. Ugh. Kill me.

ryan, working on a machine design project.
We are designing a bunch of gears and journal bearing based on a simple system. Only problem is there are like 15874161877777 billion different types of things to choose from...
For example... what are the gear ratios? Then how many teeth do each gear need? What contact angle will you choose for the teeth? What is the face width of each gear? what is the shaft size connected to each gear?
Let's move to journal bearing.. what kind of bearing will you use? Ball bearing? Cylindrical? Or will you choose a hydrodynamic bearing where your shaft will be supported by a pressure build up of the fluid within the journal? COOL, you decided fluid is the best way to go, is your shaft considered a high speed shaft? Otherwise there won't be enough pressure build up within the fluid to support the shaft and it will sink and have metal to metal contact. COOL it's a high speed shaft, there will be enough pressure build up.... BUT WAIT!!!! How much heat will this viscous fluid create? How will this affect your total power output? OH COOL ALL THE FUCKING HEAT TRANSFER EQUATIONS ARE IN STANDARD FUCKING UNITS!!!!
Shoot me now.

There are a lot of different options that can get the job done. You can use educated guesses and rules of thumb to narrow it down. Is this part going to endanger someones life? Or will it just be an annoyance down the road and cost a little bit of money to replace? Depending on the application, it may not be worth it to spend a ridiculous amount of time fine tuning something. Formulas can never be 100% accurate to what is really going to happen. In the real world time is money. Sometimes you have to find a balance and make some trade offs.
