I'd do better gettin a 2012 the way it looks for me in my whole entire state. If im not mistakened isn't this about the time where manufacturers start gearin up for next year models anyway?

I want to give Colin his props for the information he posted. I was gonna go for a 2011 but with this new info, I'm gonna wait till the SE comes out and then make a "sound" financial decision ...

^ I have pretty much outfitted mine to the Type S spec (except for the red ambient lights and stitching).

Glad to see they are bringing that version over to North America finally, maybe they will sell some of those parts as accessories for the Base and Tech model in 2012.

Since I still love my problem free 06 tsx I plan to keep it awhile longer. Yes that 12 tsx se sounds great but new wears off.

^^^^^^
No car payment on 06
Have money saved and do not want to spend it
I would hope the 2012 would be problem free-
My 06 is RED and still looking excellent except for the rear bumper-It was hit while I was stopped at a redlight. Other driver's insurance is paying to get it fixed. I now leary of owning a new car.

LOL I understand what you mean nj2pa2nc! Your car is beautiful and the best part, ITS PAID FOR AND PROBLEM FREE!

Defconskylude, dude! That car is seriously bitchin! I'm not a fan of red that much but omg the tsx looks amazingly good in red. Black or silver is my go to color for this car besides a couple of others, but red on this 2nd gen is freakin gorgeous!

So, are you saying there hasn't been a single TSX manufactured since the March 11 disaster?

I agree the MT fans are an ever-increasing minority, but a loud one. My problem has been that no dealer has been willing to order one for me for the last 3 months. They keep pushing me to an auto, which they have in stock. They are now saying they will order, but an 6MT TSX won't arrive until DEC-JAN. That is a lot longer window than 60-80 days.

I wish Acura would be more forthright and confirm that MTs will be available in both base and Tech versions of the TSX, in addition to the SE. And confirm that the SE can have the Tech option.

No they've made some TSXs, but there haven't been any manual transmissions manufactured over the last few months. I'm sure Acura will confirm 2012 details when they're closer to the official launch. We only know about the model cause we need to order them.

As it stands, this month's order will have production restraints placed on us by Acura. If you dealer can't order a MT maybe it's because they didn't get enough cars allocated? Base Auto TSXs will account for 44% of the total production. Tech Autos will be 36% and SE ATs will be 16%. SE Manuals are a whopping 2%.

Bottom line. I'm in the business and I know that if I want a specific color combination in a manual transmission, I need to start planning at least 3 months prior to when I want it. I know that we only order once a month and if I miss that order it'll be 30 days till we can order again. Right now, the next opportunity to order will be next month for October production. This would mean December arrival. I always tell my clients that if it's coming in the 2nd half of December, it could easily be pushed back into Jan due to the holidays.

Maybe I should ask my dealer nicely to order a Red SE with Tech now? I could bring a few of my friends named Benjamin?

Thanks Colin, good information. It seems you can't order an SE with tech and manual for now?

My sense is the dealers in my area did not want to use up any of their allocation ordering a 6MT Tech, especially one that was in a color other than black, which seems to be the most popular colorway.

So Colin, on your order sheets for August, which are for '12 TSXs, they only list base autos, tech auto, se auto and se 6-speeds? Any other info?

I was able to order a manual but it won't be arriving until end of this month beginning of August. So there has been 6MT TSX manufactured after March 11. I am in Canada.

Not really, there will be 2% allocated for V-6 TSXs.

Could be a difference between AHM and HOC?

Yes, with about 60% of the production being Techs

That's what I would like to know too. I have my eyes glued to the TSX. I want a black one with a 6spd. Too bad the tech pkg isn't offered at the beginning of the new MY.

Yes but ususally they have an official day where they release all the info on the coming model year. This will be important because I will get to see what the SE is all about and decide if I should wait or try to make a deal on one of the '11s the dealers will have.

They probably won't set a date for a simple model change announcement. It'll just appear one day, probably closer to when cars are set to arrive in dealerships.

So the 06 MMC added, 15ish HP, power passenger seat, memory seat, upgraded navigation, and rear air vents(?). Now '12 MMC sees the addition of an SE model with a couple of simple color changes. WTH?

I too would order the aluminum pedals as a stand-alone accessory. One question though, why are there no rubber nubbies on the accelerator, it seems just smooth metal? Does it interfere with heel-and-toe downshifts?

I have seen the rubber nubbies on accelators from third-party manufacturers so was wondering why Acura omits them.

As Acura looks to keep its TSX lineup fresh, the automaker has added a new variant for the 2012 model year known as the Special Edition, complete with changes inside and out.

While Acura has yet to release actual images of the car, we do have quite a bit of information regarding the changes that will be applied to an otherwise standard 2012 TSX sedan in order to justify the “Special Edition” badging – and price premium.

At 1st glance one will notice a unique and ”more aggressive front spoiler, a new rear bumper fascia, unique side sills and an exclusive “Special Edition” badge on the trunklid,” as well as a polished finish with a dark grey background for the 177.5-inch 5-spoke aluminum wheels to round out the exterior cosmetic changes.

Step inside the Special Edition TSX and you will enjoy perforated black Lux Suede inserts with red backing, as well as red stitching on the seats, steering wheel and the shift knob. The injection of red continues with red lighting for the instrument cluster gauges, overhead lighting and footwell lighting.

Acura also added aluminum pedal covers with a race-inspired look to the driver’s footwell. Rounding out the Special Edition’s interior upgrades is the use of bright silver plating for the steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters and the swapping of the standard grey headliner to a black headliner.

But now comes the potentially bad news for those looking for a hot looking and fast-moving TSX, “The Acura TSX has long been known for its high-revving 4-cylinder engines and sporty driving nature,” said Jeff Conrad, vice president of Acura sales. “With the new Special Edition, the TSX becomes even more youthful and sporty in character, furthering its appeal to performance-minded buyers.”

In other words, the TSX Special Edition will only be available with the 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine good for 201 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque with the 6-speed manual, or the same horsepower and 2 fewer lb-ft of torque with the 5-speed automatic transmission.

The 2012 Acura TSX Special Edition will make its formal debut on September 22 at the Orange County International Auto Show.

I am going to take a wild guess and say that these will be the same as the OEM Accessory ones for the '11+ TSX.
