2012 acura tsx tech

I bought a 2012 tsx tech Forged silver with ebony int. I have not taken delivery yet because car I had on hold was damaged by lot attendant and was sent to another dealer via transfer. I am getting mine right off the rail car in about a week. The price i agreed to is 31258.00 which inclues desitation and doc fees. I added Body side moldings , Splash gauards, wheel locks and trunk tray. All of wich is included in price. Sales tax ,title and plates are not. Did I do ok or could have I done better? Anyone have any thoughts? Thank you

Everybody will come on and tell you how much of a better deal they got. But there are a lot of factors that go into 'deals' including geographic region, time of year, and whether one is financing or not, etc.. (Yen to dollar value is also a big issue these days, it's worth more now than in 2009.)

In my region the dealer cost today is $31,158 for the I4 Tech. Factory invoice is $32,320. The market average is at $31,960. These prices include destination fee and regional ad fees. Sounds like you paid $100 over dealer cost for an outgoing year model. Plus they get decent back end money for financing, and also $700 for TSXs at the end of the year (at least that's been the usual amount.) There was also an additional $500 in trunk money for the dealers a few months ago but that seems to be gone now.

But that's for my region, not sure where you are located.

In the end, you made a deal and you're getting the car you want. No sense in wondering about it all now after the fact. Just enjoy the car.

the accessories at msrp amounts to 513 from acura's website. not including labor. so taking your 31258 - 513 = 30745 which is basically what you're paying sans the parts. it's not a bad deal. i've seen lower and higher before ttl. like turning japanese said, it depends on your region and all too. i paid a little less than that back in march when i got my car.

Region

Im in northeast region. Dealer has about 36 sedans instock. 28 wagons instock. New units seem to be coming in slow. 2013 models must be around the corner. Edmonds just shows 500 dealer cash on my model.

I'm pretty certain the $500 is over now (Edmunds tends to not update; Truecar.com is real time.) At least in my region.

That much inventory is a lot. They have to pay on average around 5% interest on their floor every month. That adds up and makes for more incentive to move them. I assume they'll blow them out quickly pretty soon (as the 2013s arrive), and at dealer cost while just taking the financing and back end money.

But again, you made the deal so no need to look back at it. Look forward to getting the car.

Paid $28,500 for my 2011 automatic non-tech one year ago yesterday. So you got a year newer car with tech for $31,2xx. In some markets you MIGHT have been able to do a bit better, but I wouldn't stress about it. You got the EXACT car you want (didn't have to settle for what was on the lot) so you are ahead of the curve and won't ever have that "did I settle?" feeling. That's worth more than a few dollars!

I was on vaction last week and sure enough dealer called car came in. Thursday weather was cloudy wife suggested I take driver to dealer to look at car(hour and ahalf ride). Car looked great no damage and she had three miles on her. Getting this week will post a pic or two. Thanks for all that replied.

Sounds like you got a great deal. I just picked up my 2012 TSX w/TECH last week, and paid a few hundred dollars more....but I also traded an 07 TSX. So its difficult to judge the exact price.

Congrats on your purchase! I hope you're enjoying the TSX as much as I am

I agree. And it's an ugly part of the design. At the very least they should be painted the same as the body color like BMW and Audi do...
