Hi all,
Noticed some engine pinging on my 2010 AT TSX that's currently at 108k miles.
High load typically brings it out, ie going up a hill at low gear.

Has anyone tried to get this fixed recently?
Honda says knock/ping is harmless and sometimes even desirable but pretty much everything else I've read on the web says ping/knock is not good for the engine.

 

what type of gas are you using? its recommended you use 91 octane. which is premium gas. I tried to put reg gas for a while and engine starting pinging so i switched back to premium

 

Have always used 91-93 octane.

 

i have a 2009, I had this repaired soon after purchasing. I was a thorn in Acura’s side both the dealer and Acura Client Services. In 2009 the forums were buzzing with issues in the USA and other places in the world that had the similar Euro Accord. When the TSB was released for the USA I printed a copy and took to my dealer. They were adamant that the Canadian car was different than the US. After a few weeks of being a pain they repaired. I was the first customer at Acura 2000 to have this work done.
