Is 20% tint enough?

Is 20% tint enough?
Got a Black/Black '10 TSX. I just want to tint my rear passenger windows and my rear window to protect the speakers from the heat. Is 20% enough? I'm worried that if i get more than that, i wont be able to see anything looking through the windows.
Also, if i tint my rear window, will the tint affect the window if i use the defroster?

From what I believe, factory tints are about 15-20% tint. Most SUVs (on rear) comes with such tint that I think it's pretty safe. From my personal experience, I think anything lighter than 20% looks bad. Here in NJ, you can tint your rear windows as dark as you want so just make sure you comply with the law in your state. I got pulled over on my previous car (Nissan Altima) for having 35% tint on front side windows 3 times! Also, if you interior is black, 35% tint won't look that bad compared to a lighter interior (beige).
As for the rear window, tints shouldn't have much effect on the defroster BUT you have to be careful if you want it removed because you can damage the defroster while removing it. I would recommend professional tint shop for removing rear window tints.

I have 30% tints all around with ebony interior and it looks fine. However my rear parcel shelf (where the speakers are) is not ebony and instead is tan, so my back looks noticeably lighter than the rest of the car. But as yours is a 2010, yours should be ebony so you shouldn't have to worry about that.

Check your state laws beforehand, so you know how dark you can legally go on which windows. www.tintlaws.com
Like someone else said previously, I also got pulled over for my tint in NJ. I only had 35% all around, wasn't that dark, but they are rather strict in NJ. I ended up removing the front sides to stop getting hassled. Personally, I think 35% is fine, as I prefer to not have an obstructed view at night.
I moved to NY, where tint has to be even lighter, which sucks, but I am not removing the rest of it. I think as long as the fronts are not tinted, I'll be fine. My bf's a cop anyway.

LOL @ factory tint. I think they call it "privacy glass" or something. Not very private, looks like nothing is there. The only vehicles I'd say actually come from the factory with tint are SUVs and minivans. I don't consider cars as being tinted.

it's a car-drive it
In my much younger years my first car had untinted windows. It was a 1974 VW super beetle with no power steering, no power windows and a crack sunroof that leaked. It had no a/c and it took forever for the heat to work. In the winter the windshield would freeze on the inside so you had to keep a ice scraper handy. I loved that car.

I'll take some pics of the tint job I had done on my 2G TSX tomorrow. I went 20% rear and 35% front. 20% up front is too dark and makes driving at night a bit difficult. Here's what it looked like on my 1G TSX and it was just too dark for the front windows:
I'm actually getting 35% put on the front of my '04 this Thursday..
And my beloved Eclipse, also with 20% rear / 35% front; Here's what it looked like in shade:
