100K Maintenance
Hello everyone,
my 09 tsx recently hit 100k, and the maintenance code B124 cameup. I went to the Acura dealership in Virginia and the service advisor gave me an estimate of about 1800 for all the codes.
for now i only did the detailed checkup with oil change.
the dealership in Ohio said, Acura doesn't have timing belt, but chains.
i just want to know what kind of maintenance should i be doing at 100k miles.
any suggestion to save cost will be appreciated.
thanks

I'd check and change all the usual fluids: oil, brake, tranny, clutch and filters. OEM spark plugs are about done.
CU2 does have a timing chain. I wouldn't worry about it unless you notice something is wrong.
Valve adjustment if you have any chatter. Look at accessory belt for rips and cracks. Check axles for any irregular play + tears in boots. Check suspension creaks and rattles. Also get under the car and do a visual spot check for any leakage and any thing else that doesn't look normal.
Check brake pads for life, relube all brake metal components.
A good wash + wax. Check for rust.
If you kept up on the maintenance minders/regular maintenance, the car should be in good shape.
If in doubt or to see if the dealer isn't pulling your leg, check the maintenance manual.
If you or any of your buddies have DIY skills, most of this list can be done at home and save you a lot of money.

if you google B124 you can see the service details.
then I would decide what MUST be done at the stealer and have them ONLY do that,
they charge BIG money for things like change the cabin filter when you could do it the second time with your eyes closed and NO TOOLS NEEDED.
4 means new spark plugs. I would do those.
B12 is oil cabin filter and INSPECT INSPECT INSPECT.
