09 TSX a rip off in Canada
Hi All,
What do you guys think about the pricing for the 09 TSX?
In Canada, it starts at $34,200 for the base (no HID, no memory seats, no leather).
Why would anyone buy this car when you have the Lexus IS250 with better performance, RWD and starting MSRP of $31,900?
The Premium package is $36,200 (same features as the 08 model).
Tech Package is $39,000 which is insane for this type of performance nowadays.
Acura has failed thinking they are on par or better than Lexus.
I have never seen a car that decreased HP for a new model.
I got a letter from Acura advertising the new TSX saying tomorrow's technology today. When it's more like yesterday's technology today.

I think that if you feel 08 pricing was fair then 09 pricing is more than fair since its the same price but the 09 has additional content that makes it a better value.
If you thought it was overpriced to begin with, then ya, it still is. I think its overpriced only because I feel it should be closer to US pricing. Not the same but closer.
As for the IS. Load it up like a premium and pricing is much closer. And its interesting that you included freight and PDI in the TSX's $34,900 base price but not for the IS? You can add the same $1500 to that $31,900.
