09 TSX - New Brake Pads
Hello!
I have a 2009 TSX. 4 years ago I bought aftermarket pads/slotted rotors. I went to the dealership and they are telling me it's time for new brakes (they say pad wear is at '2')
Does anyone have any good recommendations on pads? Do I also need to resurface, or get new rotors? My mechanic took a look at my car and said I can replace brakes after the winter, and rotors look fine..
Hawk? Prostop? Akebono?
I do not race, I just use the car as a daily driver. Thanks!

"2" means 2mm of pad remaining. Typical pad starts somewhere around 12-14mm. General rule of thumb (well, my thumb at least) is replace around 3mm. You'd probably be okay waiting a couple months, but they're pretty worn right now. For me, my piece of mind would say to replace them now.
For daily driving you don't really *need* anything more than stock. I'm partial to EBC for a bit better than stock.
I'm conflicted on the need to resurface rotors each time I change pads. I feel it's not 100% necessary most of the time but since it's only a few dollars more per rotor I just chalk it up to better safe than sorry.
For me, brakes are one of the most important parts to keep up to shape. My opinion as a totally anonymous internet stranger would be to get them replaced as soon as possible.
I'm sure someone else can chime it with actual pad recommendations. I haven't really looked into it for the TSX yet.
