09 Tsx Loaner

Well, I have my 08 WDP TL-S in for a paint blemish and was given a 09 TSX. Here's my impression. The model had the tech package in it. It's the first 09 TSX loaner from my dealership, which makes me the first 09 TSX loaner driver. I like the new body style but not crazy about the grill the headlights.
Having owned an 04 TSX it's like night and day as far as bells and toys. The tech package really rocks!!

The ride is smoother than my old TSX and is more like the TL. I guess with the wider stance and such it's smoothed out the ride. The new 201 HP engine is very peppy and I was surprised in it's power. On the highway it accelerated very smooth and quickly. I had to take a trip down to Titusville Forida, about 1.5 hours away and gave me time to really feel it. Steering is very sensitive. I was told it doesn't have the tradition fluid power steering, it's now electronic.

The tech package was very similiar to my TL-S. Navi was a bit differenct in that there is no touch screen. It was controlled with either buttons or voice commands. I actually had to use it to find my destination and it calculated a shorter route than what I did on my own through Mapquest.

The TSX is laid out a little different on the interior. No tray in the center console arm rest, just a deep storage bin. No pull latch for the gas door. You just push it and it opens. Not secure at all against gas theft. Trunk button is built into the the lower drivers door panel, which I liked. All the controls on the center console were totally different and redesigned. For the most part very functional.

One other thing I wasn't crazy about is that you can see the hood from the drivers seat and it look kinda flat. Just straight across. Actually the dash looked the same way. Also the Navi is recessed into the dash, sitting way inside. Of course you don't need to touch it. This shades the Navi, which I like. Sometimes I get a glare on my TL-S Navi screen. It's annoying.

All in all I was very pleased with the new 09 TSX. Not sure if I'd buy one myself but I'm sure they are going to be popular.

Wish I had the fin on my car........

As for the gas door, it's locked when your car is locked.

Okay, that makes sense. Man I was looking and looking for the release latch. Finally I just pushed on the gas door and it popped open.........Glad I found it, there was no manual in the car to look up the location. I would have been out of gas in no time......

I doubt that. You still have the TSX in your avatar.

Yea, I need to change it. I don't have a good pic of my TL-S yet.
