Last week my wife loaded 6 discs into the factory six disc CD player. All six discs loaded normally without drama. When she went to play a disc it said "Error" and/or "Eject" but nothing comes out and it won't play. We took the car to the Acura dealer and they said the entire stack needs removed and sent away for repair. They said it takes 2-8 weeks for repair and during that time she has to drive around with no heat or defrost because the controls are part of the stack. Worst the repair could be a couple grand!!!!

Has anyone ever had this problem and if so fixed it themselves? I would think it is a mechanical and not an electrical issue.

Any assistance will be appreciated.

It's 2014 going on 2015, GM is making cars without a CD player, and I just installed a replacement Pionner into a friends kids' VW Beetle (it had a tape deck) that didn't have a CD Player, how about you NOT send the unit out for repair, don't use the CD Player anymore, and use an iPod or an iPhone or any phone that is able to stream bluetooth or be plugged in via usb and call it a day. They are just CD's it's not like a diamond ring is stuck in there. Just my .02. Besides that CD changer takes an epic amount of time to change a CD....

 

Lol, that is what I thought. 1 grand is A LOT of money to spend on something as dated as a CD player. Buy a $5-10 AUX cable and call it a day.
