07 and 09

I have owned a 07 TSX and I just purchased the 09 TSX A Premium White with Tech package. I am not a speed demon just a techno-junkie. Here are some of my observations (your views may be different):

1. I like the larger interior size of the 09

2. When I looked at the photos on the Acura website, I thought I wouldn't like the interior, but I do like its looks and feel. The gauges on the 09 are bright and clear and look more grown up than on the 07.

3. The 09 audio is unbelievable. I ordered some DVD Audio discs from Amazon but they haven't arrived.

4. The 09 seats are more comfortable; the ride quality and cabin noise level are much better than on the 07.

5. I love the Real time traffic and weather on the 09. (This feature was one of the reasons I didn't purchase the Lexus 250 IS.)

6. The iPhone works great with the HF.

7. The USB port is a great convenience and works perfectly

8. Although it is too early to judge, my gas mileage on the 07 was 24 on mostly city driving but I think the 09 will do a little better. I am still on the first tank fromt the dealer

9. I have had no problem with visibility with the NAV screen after I moved the BRIGHTNESS control to its highest level.

10. I do prefer the touch screen from the 07 and I liked the fact that the 07 screen wasn't placed far away from the driver in a box, but I am getting used to the 09 screen. The control knob on the 09 has nice solid feel, I do like using it but I think the touch screen on the 07 was better.

11. The 09 trunk is a little more practical than the 07.

12. I prefer the shape of the shark fin on the 09 to the 07.

13. I paid exactly $1,000 under MSRP plus tax & title. At first the salesmen told me that the 09 TSXs were only selling for MSRP, after a lot of pain and back and forth ( 2 hours worth of haggle time) the dealer caved and dropped the selling price to $1000 below MSRP. Prior to making this purchase I went to another dealership and not only did they want MSRP but they had the car loaded with at least a $1000 worth of nonsense to jack up their price. I am in the Baltimore, MD area.

Congrats on your purchase! I am looking forward to the delivery of my 09 TSX w/ Tech in Palladium/Taupe. I put over 250 miles on the dealer demo and I loved every minute!

Congrats

Congrats! I can't wait to pick mine up on Saturday. My wife and I are going to see one of my favorite bands on Friday night, something that I would normally be very excited about, and I actually can care less about now...I just want my TSX! I will finally be able to enjoy my music collection with the iPod hook-up.

Do you notice a difference in sound quality between XM radio, iPod, and CDs?

Hi congrats on purchase. Noticed your age is 60, interesting we've got a 25 year old buying a new TSX and a 60 year old just buy one! Big age gap! Anyway I am in the DC area, what dealer did you buy from that gave you 1000 off MSRP? I'll certainly use this if I do indeed decide to get a new TSX. Looking forward to hearing your feedback and seeing some pictures.

I think they're really starting to tune the ECU for MPG - I'm also interested how your '09 compares to the 1st gen.

My dad had an '07 TL, which was totaled by an idiot, so he got an '08 TL. He claims that their driving behaviors are very different - the '08 upshifts more quickly and in general is not as responsive around town. On the other hand, he says he now actually gets >20mpg in city driving, whereas the '07 wouldn't come close to that.

What's the deal with members aged or over 60 posting in the form of numbered lists? Is that a Bible thing?

It's easier to read/follow than a run-on paragraph? I like it, actually.

The other Honda/Acuras had issues with the ODOMETER (class action suit), and I suspect that the slight error in the odometer is what makes my 2006 estimate MPG about 1 MPG over what I calculate with fill-ups.

I'd be curious if you (or any 2009 owner) experience the same, or more accurate results comparing your MID MPG measurement with real miles / gallons at fill-up.

It's ... the ability to communicate? Maybe a bulleted list might've been more apropos, but stream of consciousness prose with misspellings and bad grammar make my bbs-eyes hurt. Kinda like this....

Wants pawn term, dare worsted ladle gull hoe lift wetter murder honor edge offer lodge dock florish. Disc ladle gull orphan worry putty ladle rat cluck wetter putty ladle rat hut, end fur disc raisin pimple colder Ladle Rat Rotten Hut.

Agree with all the others - it's a nice presentation of his thoughts.

...and it's ready for powerpoint!

If lawyers would learn to use numbered lists, legal documents would be a lot easier to read and understand. You do this: 1). 2). 3). and I do this: 1). 2). 3).

We are told by all VPs at our company to write emails in this form because it is much easier to pick out the key points.

When you are working in a business where every minute counts this is crucial and effective.

Now back to the topic...CONGRATS on the new car!

I'm not trying to steal the thread so I'll just respond quickly that obviously the alternative to a numbered list is not necessarily stream of conscious prose. Take thesis structure for example.
