Yoko Avid TRZ?

Getting new tires next week and trying to do research, but it seems that every website has conflicting stories. I still have the OEM tires (lasted for 42k miles, but not very well), and I want to replace them with a great all performance tire. I live in STL, so I deal with snow and rain but not enough of either do have summer/winter tires.

Tirerack lists the TRZ as #1, but before today I had never heard of them. Are these better than Bridgestones? Michelin Pilots? Some complaints on the TRZ on Tirerack from other TL owners state that it makes the car handle like a mini-van. I didn't spend the money on a TL to have it drive like a mini-van!

Any help/advice would be great!

Hey, welcome to the forum, its great to see someone else from the St. Louis area! (there aren't many of us) lol. I will be buying the Yokohama AVID V4S for my stock wheels this winter. And BTW, since you are in the area, check this out-

I have Goodyear Eagle ResponsEdges, and they have been a great all-season tire so far. This will be their first winter, so I don't have any personal knowledge of how well they handle snow, but I don't think they'll have a problem.

Just bought the Yokohama AVID V4S about a month ago and got over 1000 miles on them. I love these tires. I previously had Toyo Proxes TPT and being a college student wanted something more affordable. After some rave reviews on here i decided to go with the Yokohamas as they are a little cheaper. They are quiet and handle great in the rain. I've got about another 2 months before i see snow so we'll see when it comes along.

I bought the Yoko V4S for my TL-S back about 4 years ago, on my second set now. I enjoy the fact that they handle nicely when I need them but more importantly they last a while..the UTQG is what sold me on these bad boys; it's 500 when most others range between 390-440 (tirerack) and the speed rating (although not the best out there) is still decent for the expected tread life.
