would 215/55/17 fit our car

theres like a 30 dollar differnece in 215/55/17 and 215/50/17 just wondering if i would have any thing to worry about

more rubber... more smoother ride... safer on the road for pot holes... pleNTY of reasons

The 50 series tires are fine for the reasons you listed.

To answer your question, yes they will work fine, but the diameter is approximately 0.8" larger. If you are rolling on an agressively lowered aftermarket suspension you might rub.
