Winterizing questions

I replaced my 5Zigen 5ZR's last spring after the all the bad weather was over and stored them in my basement over the summer. One wheel had some moderate curb rash but after all the salt and snow last year in the Chicago area they all got pretty nicked up. Yesterday I put them back on and all the nicks turned into white corosion that looks like it spreads like cancer and it doesn't come off.

Can I stop the spread?
How and Where do I store my RonJons?

Most likely the clear. Not much you can do.

Store them in bags if you can out of the suns UV, Hanging or stacked on the sides not on the tread. Also put wood under them if stacking so they arent on concrete.

take them to a rim refinishing shop - they can restore them for you.
