Im about to get a set of winter rims and tires and was just wondering if a 16 x 6.5 rim would be fine on the tl-s.

In terms of tires I am planning on picking up a set of Michelin X-Ice 205/55 r16

just wondering i will have any problems with this setup or if there is something better out there!!!

Should be just fine. However I would suggest going with a 205/60-16 or a 225/55-16 to preserve the stock rolling diameter.

but will the 225s fit on a 16x 6.5 without any problems?

If it was between the stock 205's or the 'equivalent' 225's --- I would stick with stock: 205/60/16.... For winter --- the thinner the tire, the better! So I would go with the 205 set-up.

225's will mount just fine on 6.5" wheels...and that's coming from the tire manufacturer

I have a TL-s and use the TL-p 16x6.5 wheel with 205/60/16 tires for my winter setup. No issues whatsoever.
