Wheels on ebay

I thought TL's can only have at least a 48mm offset. These wheels and a lot of others say they will fit TL's. Is this common on Ebay? I am looking for new wheels but I don't trust these will fit. Example:

they'll fit...
ours are -55, -48 is pretty close, -32 will rub like a mother, 38 should rub, -42 should be close...

these are just very rough estimates and I know I'll be corrected here bay someone more knoledgable.

Sellers on ebay will do almost anything to make a sale. Alot of auctions state that <40offset will fit our TLs. Sure it'll fit, but it will RUB like a mother. Safe bet, find some wheels you like, find out the size and offset and check on this board. I've seen way to many times, people go out and buy rims and come onto the board wondering why the rims don't fit. Please do some research first.

With that said, for the following sizes, these are what I believe to be the minimum offset to prevent any rubbing:
17x7 +40
18x7.5 +44
19x7.5 +48

Again, I know several members who got away with lower offsets for their respective wheel sizes, but they had to either trim the tab or what not. Just my $0.02

I'm not sure if I want to go with the 17" or a 18" rim but at least now I have some sort of refrence to follow . As far as offset goes any number higher than what the last post said I should be pretty safe with?

correct, that is a rough estimate... ovbiously do more research before you buy, but that "guide" should be adaqute to do some good shopping with.
