Wheel and spring advice

Hey, I have a SSM 02 Type-S, and right now im on the Tein H-Tech springs but I think I want to go a LITTLE lower, but I dont want to sacrafice ride quality. Any suggestions? Also, Im considering going with the 19 inch TSW Thruxton wheel. What do you guys think? Any input is appreciated.

I believe the offset on those is too low for a TL. You prolly should make another selection.

Ride quality and riding on 19s ... doesn't work that way.

If you want ride quality, go with 16s. If you want looks/handling ... 18s or 19s. IMHO.

With your setup, the only way to manipulate the ride height "just a little" ... coilovers. Tein Basic or Tein SS. With the Tein SS, not only can you adjust height, you can also adjust firmness (to a certain degree). Hope that helps.

true man, your best route with what you wanna do IMO is pick up a set of coilovers so you can dial in to the exact height you want, and still have it work with the wheels you desire. 19x8 +40 can work.. but it might not be the easiest of tasks. surely it aint gonna take widebody work...

but rolling fenders in the rear is a possibility. if you like the wheels though, i say do it. another secret for fitment lies in the tire size you choose to go with

The rears rub a little, but not often. I shaved a plastic tab off the rear bumer in the fenderwell and it helped greatly. Im still going to roll the rear fenders tho. Im considering a bigger drop, from H&R or Neuspeed, so then I will have to.

i was planning on getting tsw vortex's in the same size and offset. i was worried about rub and it sticking out but it looks good. couple questions though, does it weigh your car down at all and decrease performance at all? and also does it effect your camber, do you need a kit at all? thanks.

I havent really noticed a performance difference. You will need to roll your fenders, I still need to do mine. As far as camber goes, its the same as it was. If you have the Type-S, the overall wheel and tire size is barely bigger than stock. Yes, there is 2 more inches of wheel, but also about 2 less inches of tire. (my tires are 225/35/19) So however your camber is on your stock Type-s wheels should be the same.

I belive the lower the number, the more it comes out toward the fender. My offset on mine is 40, so you should have no problem with a 45. I guess you would have to see it in person, but with my 40 offset, it almost looks rwd. Just the way they sit is PERFECT. (better after fender roll) Very agressive looking. I have had 3 of my friends on separate occasions call me while i was driving so say how perfect my offset is. That isnt really something you hear about often lol.
