Tires for 2000 TL
Time to look for a new set. I replaced the oem Michelins with Bridgestone all season pole positions, and the size went to 215/55-16. They were ok, but I'm thinking about going back to Michelin because the Acura dealer can do a good deal, and the local tire shop (STS) is constantly changing personnel because of problems. Here's my dilemma: I figured Pilot Sport AS3 should perform better than a "grand touring all season". Michelin's Premier all season gets equal or better marks in all areas according to Tire Rack. The Premier does cost around $17/tire more, but I'm not concerned with that. Does anyone have experience with these Michelin tires? I have Continental DWS on another car, but I'm not sure the dealer can get them as reasonably due to their long term relationship with Michelin. Any comments welcome. One more thing. My wife is the primary driver of the TL. She is not an aggressive driver, and my main concern is how well the tires will perform in rain and moderate snow or ice. Thanks, all.

My one and only 2000 TL (with 325K) is ready for another set of tires and with all new suspension parts in the front I'm thinking of going from 205/60/16 to 225/60/16. Maybe I can only go as far as 215 but has anyone ever tried a 225mm tire on a 2000? What would I need to make this happen? This car was my back up for years and when I fell on bad times I sold my Toyota and Beemer and went solely with the Acura. Amazingly with a little TLC this car just keeps going. Decided to put about $1000 into the car each year (about two car payments) and now just hit 325K the other day.
