Thoughts for better daily grip..
for good grip for daily driving such as freeway and highway curves through mountain roads what do you guys think as a best set up as for rim size (tire size will best suit wheel size of course)
right now i have 18x8 inch wheels... this weekend im considering trading for 17x8.5 inch wheels thinking that a wider wheel will produce better grip.. does my thinking seem logical?
should i keep my 18s or trade for the 17s?

More tire width helps. Rim width in principle would allow you to fit a wider tire. The tire itself is probably the most important factor, namely the compound used. If you use some low-rolling resistance tire with a big squishy sidewall designed for comfort it won't come close to an R-compound.
