If you decide to put them on, I advise you to go to your local sandblasting shop. Get them sand blasted than paint them. That way the paint will stick. That’s what I would do?

You want to POWDERCOAT them. That will protect them. Thats what is on there from the factory, it just seems the company had issues with their powdercoating so it came off and the springs started to rust.
Have a shop check out the springs before you do anything though. They should take a ball peen hammer and lightly tap them in different places. If there is a hollow sound, they're cracked and are garbage.

I had Comptech springs that looked like yours when I first got them. After 20k miles (only 1 time with road salt) they looked like this. I replaced them with my current setup because I didnt want them to break on me. After I took them off, I would have to say they would have structurally lasted much longer, but the one in the picture had rusted worse and had basically fused itself to the bottom of the spring seat on the stock strut - that was what was causing all the noise from that area when i went over bumps. So I would say you could put them on and they may be fine for a while, but with that much rust already, there is no way to stop it unless you get them sanded and re powdercoated. (paint will not work) And I dont know how much that would cost, but Im sure you could get new springs for not much more at all.
