If you have TEIN Basics then you have 4 shocks and 4 springs from TEIN. You can't replace TEIN shocks with KONI shocks. You can only run TEIN dampers on TEIN's coilovers.

Tein will happily rebuild your shocks with whatever new seals and valves they need, can even change the valving rates if you want. See their website for prices. Their shop is in L.A.
If you have a failure of a Tein shock, then check with them about any warranty.
You never know. Its about 100-150 per shock for an overhaul -iirc- dont quote me, ask them!

what's wrong with your current dampers? are you sure they're blown? tein products usually last for a really long time w/o any problems. to tell you the truth, tein ss' are a bit of an overkill. no one's gonna sit there and adjust their dampening all the time anyway. i have the basics and they're GREAT!!

I beg to differ.
Those with SS and who like to vary the car from wife soft OE ride to backroad fun,
DO make adjustments to the dampening, and the real gadget freaks get the EDFC electronic adjuster for immediate in car changes.
If you only have a set of basics you are in no position to say how anything else is.
Sure the basics are fine for the driver who wants sportier than OE ride and never plans to play with the fine tuning and balance of the car.
Thats somethng that happens after you get a track day addiction

Its called a hook spanner, Tein calls it just an Adjust Wrench, you can get it from their website. But I went to my local tires shop, which also sells body kits and suspension products, and I got a pair of adjust Wrenches for $35CDN.

point taken. and you bring up a good point about the EDFC. i'd just like to know how often the tein SS guys adjust their dampening. it would be interesting to see people w/o an EDFC tweaking their system all the time.

you might want to post something in the BM that you need the wrenches. you absolutely need those if you're going to making any kind of adjustments. someone has to have a spare lying around they're not using.

raise the front back up before you hurt something

Are you talking about the 2 special wrenches, or is there a problem with the 2 big nuts that support the spring perch/base

When I had my Tein SS I didnt adjust the dampening all the time but enough that I wish I had the EDFC. Still the best mod on the car IMO were my Tein SS Coilovers

the basics are actually pretty affordable. depending on where you get them, they range anywhere from $$600-$700 new.
