tein basic vs tein ss

whats difference between the two?? any reason i should shell out the extra 250 for the ss

Short answer... Basics are only height adjustable. SS are height and damper adjustable.

damper adjustment allows you to soften or stiffen the rebound and dampening force with a click of the tool in top of shock- thats really nice
ss can also have EDFC electronic controller motors added to the adjuster for on the road/track instant adjustment

id check out the tanabes with the adjustment setting dial on the lower part of the strut so you dont have to take the rear seat and shit out.. thats a bitch if you dont have edfc, tein ss with edfc cost like 1500, tanabes.. like a g...

On the Tanabe systems I have seen they don't have the dial below, at least for the 2nd gen TL/CL. Which setup are you referring to? You can adjust the SS easily in the front. The rear can be done by removing the back seat which takes about 15-20 mins or by drilling a small hole in the rear deck that is hard to notice and slipping a long allen key to change the damping. Or leave the seat out go for a test drive and see where you like it and put the seat back in. You don't need the EDFC. It does cost less than $1500, hundreds less, if you PM me. Tanabe's are also pretty soft. I sell both but IMO TEIN is the better buy.
