Sensen Struts?
Sensen Struts?
Hey guys, my 03 TL-P is at 125K miles and handles like...well, crap. I live in NYC and it's my daily driver, so it's seen a decent amount of abuse from potholes
. I want to replace the struts but do not want to sink a lot of money into them. From the research I've done, Tokico HP (blues) and KYB GR2 are the most popular options. Has anyone ever heard of a brand called Sensen? They're pretty big in China, supply OEM for Audi, Volkswagen, and Volvo there. Use the same dual-chamber system and NOK seals as KYB. They are WAY cheap, at $140 for all 4, and have gotten decent reviews on forums for other cars (BMW, Lexus, Mazda, Nissan) and come with a lifetime warranty. Just wanted to know if anyone has any experience at all with these. And also, I'm figuring I will probably need to change the mounts, anything else? Thanks!

140 for all 4?! Wow thats cheap.. but then again the old saying comes into play. You get what you pay for. If you have one 140 to spare then id honestly do a bit more research on them and just shoot the gun. If they ride great then thats a big score for both you and the acurzine community. When you say they supply OEM for Audi, Volks and volvo, im a bit skeptical, i dont think they would use chinese parts on a german made car? Or i could be wrong.
I didn't believe it either, but I did some research, and it seems legit. TBH, I'm mostly sold on the lifetime warranty and price as is, plus what I've read on other forums. The only thing that I can't vouch for yet is longevity. I'll make up my mind by the end of the week whether to get these or stop being so cheap and get the KYB for $100 more. I just think it would be nice to have such an affordable alternative on here for members doing everything on a budget.
Lifetime warranty is always great but theres always something behind it. Just because its lifetime warranty doesnt mean you get a replacement quick. But i read some reviews about the struts and everyone is saying its stiffer/sportier then KYB and rides great also.
I say go for it! I'd buy a set if i had money but i dont and plus i already have coilovers :p

Yeah, I looked into the warranty, it isn't a very speedy process. And KYB are already on the sporty side if I'm not mistaken. Don't know if I want the ride too stiff. Any thoughts on what I should change besides the mounts?
Springs I'm praying will be in good shape. End links aren't very expensive. I watched an episode of Top Gear, they tore the Chinese automotive industry a new one, I'm gonna go with the KYB
