scratched OEM rims - any fast and easy fixes.

its pretty nasty on one spot but all of my rims are scratched lightly (like the last 3 pics) and i cant seem to do much in getting them out. i personally really like the stock OEM rims and would like to keep them.

would spraying clear coat on them help? a big job like getting them refinished is out of my budget right now. i know you cant put a lot of "stuff" on our rims cus they might get ruined. any recommended products?

thanks a lot guys - acurazine has helped me more than anything

Only way is to have the clear stripped and recleared. There isnt much that hurts stock wheels so dont worry about using stuff on them to clean them, its the uncoated wheels that can get damaged easy. Either way not much you can do this side of sanding them yourself and painting or clearing yourself (which wont be as strong as powercoated clear/color

so before i clear them - i should sand them down with a very fine grit sandpaper (emery cloth) i dont think any of the scratches are deep enough that it when all the way through the clear. i have been using rim cleaner to keep clean the brake dust off of them every time i wash the car.

polish the metal up real nice and clear them. i want them too look like there brand new. thanks

you cant just spray over the scratches, they will still be there. You have to sand it smooth.

ok yea its kinda just like doing body work almost. it shouldn't take too long i dont think. does anyone recomend any type of sanding method/polishing or really any advice on how not to mess it up. its pretty much strait forward but i just dont wana do somthing stupid (like i always do).

oh, should i just go out and buy any clear in like a spray can? or should i use the stuff a body shop uses? i dont see much of a difference.

i should be fine with this and im looking forward to posting the new pictures, i just always make sure before i do anything now. iv had some sucky experiences in the past.

thanks again acurazine

ps. whats the best rim shine you can get for stock oem rims?
