question about 20" rims

so im planning to buy 20 inch rims yes i know most people think its ugly so lets try to stay on subject for this thread please. the rim shop told me that the bolt pattern has to be 7.5 and no more, most 20's come in 8.5, so if anybody has experience with this and can tell me their bolt pattern and how it feels on their car would be apreciated thanks

Zeus pulled it off so its not true for every set up but you have to do it right. Drop first then go from there cuz if you dnt drop theres no way youll pull it off.

i see tons of 20's that are 7.5.. and even 7 before...
and they dont have to be that small in width.. it has alot to do with the offset of the wheel.. some 20's in 8.5 should fit fine with the right offset

ugly.. but it'll fit

The TL has a high offset like +50 and the problem you will find is that most 20's are a lower offset like +30. So you will need to get a high offset plus keep the width down to around 7.5, 8.0. also like posted before are you running stock suspension? are you planning on lowering it? and you might have to roll fenders and cut tabs too, but not 100% on that.

Zeus pulled it off nicely, and mikeys car looks real good with 20's as well

Be very selective when choosing the wheels and you should be fine.

thats not "pulling it off" they still look way oversized. one of the better examples perhaps...

8.5 high offset and/or proper tire size and it'll work. ugly as shit but itll work

i rolled my fenders myself with my louisville slugger fenderroller, no cracks or chips. only heat i had was my sisters hair dryer... you just gotta take your time and be careful. also depends on the condition of your paint, does it see a lotta sun, take a beating, etc....

If your not willing to spend the money to do it right dont do it.
And the "i heard" Rolling fenders inst something new. Many have done it here with NO issues. If done incorrectly yes it can chip and rust, but if done corectly you will be fine.

You can do 20's but like they say, do it right. Look at post 11 on this thread below..I think these Menzari wheels look really nice and with a good drop, it would look pretty good. Plus they have the specs that allow it to work on the 2nd Gen TL. I'm on a work computer right now, so the images are blocked but last I saw, these pics did display

yeah, with a slightly lower drop on that WDP with the Menzari's, that shiz would look even better. I really think that style wheel in a 20 looks really nice..if it wasn't for the wheel lip, it wouldn't work though IMO. In fact, when he had those for sale, I almost bought them..then I found my HFPs

good to see there 1 or 2 members with 20's "pulling it off", though still looks too large IMO. Otherwise, for the other 20"+ setups, all have pretty much been ugly and cheap.

Personally I wouldn't be able to stand having to be deathly scared of potholes or blowing my rubber-bands out, but to each is own.

20s usually do not look good on 2nd gen TLs. They usually look clumsy and out of place. The WDP with the Menzaris looks good though. It would look even better if it was dropped just a little bit more on the front end.
