Hey Trance, nice to see a fellow noVA TLer. I don't think you should have any problems at all. I had a similar setup last year before I purchased my 18's and I had no problems at all. But the only difference was that I was running a stock tire setup 215/50/17. Keep in mind also that I was also lowered on H&R sport springs. The only thing that you might consider is that your speedometer will be slightly off, but not by much. BTW we are having a local meet this Saturday, Jan 28, 2006 at Tyson's Corner Mall. You might want to drop by and pick up a few tips from the local crew. Here is where you can find information on the meet: https://acurazine.com/forums/acurazine-clubs-meets-15/mini-meet-hang-out-time-md-dc-va-pa-feb-4-2006-a-327647/

Please keep discussion on-topic.

You can use PM to send invites to meets.

As for your rim question, TLKrazey20 -- 17x7 with +45offset should be OK if you don't slam it to the ground. OEM CL-S rims are 17x7 (but +55 offset). +45 offset is a full 1cm (0.4 inches) your rims will 'stick out' compared to OEM rims.

Tires ... 215/45/17 ... NOT a good idea ... that's > 3.3% smaller in circumference than OEM (215/50/17) setup. Why not go 225/45/17 or 225/50/17 ... both are < 2% difference than OEM spec. What tires are you looking for?

If it's a rim/tire complete set you're getting, then I would pass. If you like the rims -- fine -- see if the guy will just sell the rims but get different tires. Your ABS / traction control / speedo / etc might not respond appropriately due to the > 3% change in tire circumference.

Bro, I just got your PM. I think that what is more concerning is the tire size more so than the rim size. With a 215/45/17, you are at a 3.34% diameter difference which could have an adverse effect on your abs and traction control system as Derrick mentioned. The problem lies in the fact that (1) You are going from a 50 profile to a 45 profile (2) You are going from a 6.5" in rim to a 7" rim. It would be advisable for you to go with the stock tire size of 215/50/17 to ensure that your setup works properly with your abs/traction control system. As I said before, I had a similar setup in the past. I was running a 17 X 7 +45 offset with a 215/50/17 and had no problems. Keep in mind that with a +45 offset, as derrick mentioned, this will push the rim out a little further, making it almost flush with the fenders. This will increase your chance of rubbing if you decide to lower your car later on but I never had any problems and I am lowered on H&R Sports. Here is the tire fitment comparison:

As long as all 4 tires are the same size the only real thing it will do is throw off the spedo by a small amount. It wont cause any thing to work differently, It will just work at a speed that s not accurate
