To Be Or Not To Be..

I gotta question about some things, I'm getting a pair of lowering springs real soon, now these are H and R sport springs they lower around 2 in the front and 1.7 in the back i think, what else should i buy before i put them on? i want to just put em on but i dont want to mess up ANYTHING so is it cool for me to just slap em on or should i get struts first, camber kit or something? let me know soon because i really want to put them on but anytihing that will harm them WILL Prevent me from doing this.

dropping your does make the shocks work a little harder adn they will die slighty quicker.

putting lowering springs on like ianbiz said, will kill the life of your stock shocks by half. some recommend doing both shocks and springs at the same time, labor costs. but if you're doing it yourself, labor cost doesn't apply. after installation, wait 2 weeks then get an alignment - that will tell you if you need a camber kit. (i doubt you will need a camber kit w/ H&R springs - i'm assuming you're getting the H&R sports?)

search up the forum and read more on this. most members' stock shocks are still good after installing the springs. some have blown, some have not.

If the H&R springs lower around 2" front and 1.7" rear, it is definitely H&R race springs (not H&R sports). Vitek, you will definitely need a rear camber kit. As whatwasthat said, wait a few weeks for the springs to settle, then do a 4 wheel alignment with rear camber kit install. I ran with race springs and stock shocks because I didn't have the money at the time to install aftermarket shocks. But yeah, if you do have the money, swap both H&R springs and some good performance shocks at the same time to save on labor cost. If you don't have enough money, get the race springs in and you can wait to install the performance shocks later. Good luck.

While KYB is a well known name brand, I don't know anyone who has them. If you get them, post a review on them. As for prices, ask one of the preferred vendors here for quotes. Then you can compare those prices to the internet shops (do a google search, you'll get lots).

Yes, the absolute minimum is a rear camber kit. Ideally you want to get the front one too, but it's not critical. If you absolutely must have proper camber and toe for all 4 wheels, then yes get the front camber kit too. Again check with the preferred vendors here and other sites to see what prices you can get the camber kit for, then compare with internet shops that google pulls up. The name brands for the camber kits (that I know of) that are available for our TL are: SPC and Ingalls. Good luck!
