New Rims.. Opinions and help?

Well I've always liked the black glossy rims with a chrome lip finish and finally saved up enough for them. I've done research for over an hour and didn't really find much, and to make it worse, I'm a total noob when it comes to cars. So here goes:

These are the rims I'm considering (price is good and I fell in love with it):
**mod edit - no links to ebay**

I read the rim fitment sticky and it said that they should fit (7.5"=45 offset).. ( I have absolutely no clue what offset is, (whether its passive or we have to adjust offset?!?) , and no idea if it is going to rub or not. (I've read over dozens of posts and threads about it rubbing or not, and some people said it rubs and don't with or without trimming the tabs or rolling fenders (no idea what that is neither). I plan on getting 225/40/18's for my rims so all the help I can get would be awesome.

P.S. and if I drop my car 1.5" in the back and 1" in the front, will they start to rub or prevent it from rubbing?

sorry if any of my questions are stupid, but thanks anyways in advanced.

ok first who cares about other peoples opinions. You Shouldnt. They are not paying your bills brotha. Asking if the rims will fit yes they will. If you lower you might have to roll the fenders and cut the tabs. You can do a search and find all kinds of info on that. Props to you for saving up for what YOU want man. I say if you want them get them. I myself just bought some solid black glossy 5 spoke wheels and i know that people will hate on them because it wont fit in with 98% of the TLs on here but trust me its a good thing. Alot of nice rides here just alot of repitition. Good Luck

a 1.5 rear drop with a 1.0 front drop is gonna look like you are riding 3 fat chicks in the backseat. The fender difference already makes the rear appear lower, an uneven drop like that will magnify the problem. You need more drop in the front than the rear.

WOOPS i meant 1.5 front and 1 rear, sorry ( and i can't find edit button.. hmm) and yeah, I know most people on this forum would diss the rim because everyone on here are old (no offense) I'm, only 17 and I personally like the "sporty" look and would like to mix it into a classy car with a classy body kit (wings west) to get a sporty classy look =). Maybe when I get 28+ I'll start getting rims a bit more mild and classy, but thanks for your opinions anyways.

A mild/classy looking rim would only turn heads and get "wow, nicely done on those rims" not "god damn! those rims look hot!", therefore I'm picking a rim that I liked because it has a sporty look to it. So.. look at the rims and give me opinions as if it was for a "sporty" reason, not classy. Just want to know if it fits good with the sporty category, and thanks.

Plus, as for lowering the car, I've been searching and saw that H & R Springs are cheap and works pretty good and was wondering if it would be a good idea.. because i want to lower the car, but not to a point that I would be scraping if I go over 15 mph and hit a slight dip(lol).

And as for the rims, they say 42 offset in the description, but in the caption below they say 45, so I'm assuming 45 (they said to call to check for specs about rims and fitment beforehand.) So, assuming they are 45 offset will they rub?
