NEED HELP I'M BUYING RIMS 03 Type-S
Hey Guys,
03 TYPE-S Rim Question here.
I want to get 18X7.5 rims with a 42 offset.
Will this work with 225/40/18 tires and a 1.5"drop?
If not what do I need?
PLEASE HELP

You might be a little too low on offset if you have a 1.5" drop -- wheels might stick out past the wheel wells. You are probably better off getting offset +45 or greater to make sure you don't rub.
What setup do you have? OEM shocks / Tein S.type springs? Might rub with that if you have a lot of people in the back or a heavy system ...

Because most cars don't have a +55 offset like ours, which sucks.
We are the oddball car out there. Most aftermarket wheels are designed to fit cars with the averege offset range of +38 to +45. For us, we got that hella tucked in offset. My 97 Accord had a 18 x 7.5 wheel with +45 offset and it fit perfect. The newere Accords and TL's are just a bit more crowded in the wheel wells and have very little room to play with unfortunately

17x8 + 42 is not gonna fit. Do the math
Stock: 17x6.5 +55
Proposed: 17x8 +42
The clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 6mm LESS
The outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 32mm (1.26")
That's a huge difference over stock. Take a ruler and measure out 1.25" from the farthest edge of a stock wheel/tire. Where does it end up? I guarantee you you under sticking out the wheel well. That's a huge no-no if you want be rub-free.
