KYB GR2 shocks, for those who have them,do you like??

I have heard they are a great OEM replacement, but if you are doing anything past a 2 inch drop Tokicos might be a better choice. Check the Black Market and also on V6perfomance (dot) net there usually is someone selling a shock and possible a shock + lowering spring set up, and that could save you some money.

KYB shocks
I just put 4 new KYB GR-2s on my Sierra extended cab truck this weekend.
Got them from Tire Rack-all 4 including shipping for only $109. Plus I ordered on Tuesday afternoon and they got them to my house on Friday AM.
On my truck, they seem to be a slight upgrade from OEM without making the ride too stiff or harsh. I plan to get them for my TL-S sometime this summer.

If all your looking for is a stock style replacement they are a good shock. If your looking for something a little more performance orientated get teh blues or konis.

^^ Only problem that i can think of...they won't last as long cause they were meant for OEM replacements. Since you're lower i would suggest blues or konis. I went with GR-2's cause mine isn't as low as yours.

thread revival,
so you guys think it would be safe to have KYB GR-2's all round with H&R sport springs 1.7F/1.5R drop. anyone have this set up, im considering this since its a really cheap upgrade. i guess since its not a 2 inch drop it will be ok for a while, right? thanks

yeah, a few guys over on the CL side are running B&G's and seem to really like them, the only thing im worried about running KYB GR2's on lowering springs and that KYB GR2's are not designed for lowering apparently. yet some people have them lowered with no problems. StonedCL has them and likes those B&Gs, they drop almost exactly the same has H&R springs. and B&G is suppose to have a lifetime warranty.ill have to do more research. does anyone know any TL'er running B&G's?

i'm running gr-2s and h&r's right now and they have been on for over two years together. the ride is fine, but i'll be upgrading to bilstein later down the road because i'll need something better for performance. for the regular ass commute the gr-2's are more than enough

Just picked up a kit(front and rear) of KYB GR2 shocks shipped to Canada for around $250. Going to install them with Eibach Pro Kit springs.

I was also wondering how they would do with the H&R spring set.

I've installed a LOT of kybs over the years, mostly gr2s, some honda stuff, some not, and I really like them. Usually an improvement over stock, not too stiff for normal customer types, and I seldom have to warranty them. I don't care for the kyb gas a just [the monotube kybs] A little too stiff for my taste, and I've had them tear out shock mounts. I have less experience with tokico, but I've had more failures [my own illuminas included]. I'm currently running kyb agx adjustable shocks with h&r springs. This setup handles as well, and rides WAY better than eibach pro kit with the illuminas. I love bilsteins on full size trucks and vans, but was worried about them being too stiff, and felt the same way about koni, but no real experience with koni.
