knock out oem studs

Whatsup everyone,

I have a set of Ichiba v1 spacers (the ones with the extended studs). I took my car in to the shop to get them installed but the mechanic said that their was an issue regarding the front studs. He said that it would be difficult to remove the front oem studs and replacing them with the extended studs without taking off the hub. He also said that if he were to bring the hub out, he could damage the hub in the process. My question is for people who have successfully put on the extended studs; How were you able to put them on without removing the hub? I was thinking about just removing the heat shield but there could be more to it.

Thanks!

Damage the hub how? Maybe a bearing would end up needing replaced if they were not careful. I've never done them on the TL but on my other Hondas/Acuras you just bend the dust shield out of the way.

I know nothing about the extended studs but from the many hubs I have took out I'm pretty sure you would need to replace the bearing also. Better safe than sorry.

I don't know if you still need the answer but you can get to it the ghetto way without removing the hub at all. Just bending the heat shield back a little and shave off pieces of the bolt and just sticking it in that way. Well it worked for taking off the stock studs when I went to a shop to replace my studs.
