If you guys would pick a suspension (shocks and springs) which one would it be?
Im torn in between 2 diff suspention setups. I need New shocks on my car
(165 K miles) so instead of getting the OEM for about $300 im going to spend a little more and get some aftermarket shocks and springs set.
I narrowed it down to 2 diff setups:
1)B&G S2K Sport Suspension lowering Kits Part #04.3.008
(lowers about 1.6 inches)
B&G S2K Sport Suspension lowering Kits are designed for the enthusiast who desires a fully engineered suspension kit utilizing experience, technology, and the finest quality components. Each S2 lowering Kit is the result of 150 years of spring and 40 years of shock design and manufacturing expertise. All components of the S2 Kits are ISO and TUV Certified, and back by a Limited Lifetime Warranty.
Shocks and dampers in the S2K employ a secure gas charged twin tube design. This configuration prevents shock failure during high use and allows for separate multi-staged rebound and compression valving. The result is a superior ride that reduces pitch and roll, reacts immediately to rough surfaces and maintains a smooth and stable ride on high-speed raved roads.
S2K shocks and dampers are valved to work in harmony with the matched B&G lowering springs. The result is a complete suspension solution with the ultimate in ride quality and performance.
Features
Matched spring rates and shock valving provide the ultimate in ride quality and performance.
Shocks and dampers offer separate multi-staged rebound and compression that reacts immediately to rough surface and maintains a smooth and stable ride at high speed.
Fully engineered suspension kit utilizing experience, technology, and the finest quality components.
Limited Lifetime Warranty
or
2)Tokico Spring/Shock Kit - HPK part #HPK275
(lowers about 1.4 inches)
TOKICO’s HP Series – the famous “Blue Shock” – continues to be the overwhelming choice of performance enthusiasts looking for the best in overall handling and ride quality. The HP Series damping typifies TOKICO’s valving flexibility and philosophy by minimizing low speed damping force and greatly increasing damping at medium and high piston speeds for improved compliance, tire adhesion and handling.
TOKICO HPK Kits offer Four HP Series Shocks and Four Lowering Springs for exceptional performance.
Thanks for all your advice!!
Also Do you guys think I will need a camber kit with any or these 2 setups?
Both are about the same price shipped so price is no object (both under $500 shipped)
THANKS!!

I did alot or research and these 2 are pretty much my ONLY choices.
I want to keep the ride semi stock just a little lower and a little better.
I like the stock ride and don't want to get away from that too much!

None of those. With your budget
H&R sports and KYB-GR2 you can get them for about 500-550 (shocks and springs)

Ok, if you drop, you're pretty much gonna have to get a camber/alignment kit. I just dropped my 01 TL on tein stechs and tokico blue shocks, rides super smooth on a smooth road, little stiff on the bumps, but it cuts a turn like a hot knife through butter. Excelerate has that setup for 550 for 99-03 TL's, but I have to get a camber kit cuz my tires are wearing out like crazy. Camber/Alignment kit is $74 each axle.

You dont really need an alignment if you get a small drop. It doesnt hurt, but youre only adjusting toe. The camber is whats eating up your tires. If you want the proper drop, I'd suggest getting the shocks/springs, then getting a camber kit all the way around. Your tires will last you as if you never dropped it. If you slam your car, a camber kit is useless.

Toe is a killer for sure...inner tire wear (bad camber) is a common issue when dropping since all that added weight is on the inner edges of the tire. you can look at your tires in most cases to see if you got bad toe...tires have a feathered look to it...my ingalls camber kit i have on the rear has served me well for about two years now. The rear camber kit completely resolved my rear camber issues perfectly and as a bonus, the rears actually helped to allow my fronts to be dialed within "Green" acceptable range now..i may still get front camber kits to truly maximize tire life.

Cool I will most likely pick them up as well. Just wanted to make sure it included springs and shocks . I agree with you, EX always puts up with my many annoying questions.
Thanks!

If your shocks are stock from when the car was new chances are that they need to be replaced, i dropped my car cuz i needed new shocks and the stock shocks where like $350 shipped so i figured i'd spend an extro $110 get new springs with the shocks and be done with it.
Why take apart your shocks twice , and pay someone twice to do it, do itright the first time!@

I am currently debating back and forth on what route i need to go now with my TL..go with sport struts or just get some OEM type and call it a day...had no complaints with stock struts and my HR sports, but 70K miles on them now and I can tell the car seems to be more loose on bumps and dips, but not leaking yet...they dont have to leak in order to be bad..they wear out over time regardless.
