hubcentric rings

whats better, plastic or aluminum?

im an idiot, and now realized that theres a 9mm bore difference with my rims and hub, and now bet that its the space that is causing my vibration...

either is fine- whatever the local tire store has- I run plastic on mine

Yes it will help a lot on vibrations- without them, its possible to have the rim not dead center on the lugs

also to confirm, our centerbore is 64.1? i saw some threads people pointing out 64.1 and 64.0 so just wanna make sure, cuz i bet every mill counts...

Yes, 64.1 and plastic is perfectly fine. That's what I used with my wheels.

Plastic ones tend to work better in winter/salt as far as not seizing onto the hub, but I've seen them melt on a track car. Aluminum ones won't melt, but I've seen them split from corrosion, and/or seize onto the hub. It's a rust belt thing!

wheel manufacturer provided plastic hub rings with my wheels (menzari)...no vibration at all after install.. ....interesting points about meltdown vs. cracking...guess we'll wait and see...enjoy

One of my plastic ones was sheared into halves (became two rings) before. Metal ones are definitely a lot stronger.
