How do I lower my car?
Hey guys. I am a NOVICE when it comes to suspension. I have performed searches and read several threads but they have not answered my question, which may seem like a simple one to you... I want to replace my shocks/struts and springs. I also want to lower the car; what combinations will work? Lowering springs with lowering struts? Lowering springs with standard struts? Standard springs with lowering struts? Which combination usually provides the smoothest ride? Please be very detailed - as I said, I am a novice.

i don't know so much about struts but what i heard is that if u just use after market springs and your stock struts then it will wear them out faster. i have Tein S. Techs which a lot of people think is the best bang for ur buck in terms of springs.
there are a few ways you can go with this tho. if money isn't an issue...then i think Air Suspension or Coilovers would be a good idea. a few companies to look at for that would be TEIN, EIBACH, COMPTECH and H&R....all well named brands that give quality products.
-Tein S. Techs
- sporty look and sporty feel
-Tein H. Techs
- sporty look with luxury feel
-Eibach Pro-Kit
- a little bit of both
-A-Spec Suspension
- nothing better than OEM tuned springs...but they don't give u much of a drop
-Tein Basic
-Tein Flex
-Tein SS coilovers
MRHEELTOE....has a group buy for good prices on these items.
hope this helps u a bit

Thanks for the swift and informative reply! What is the deal with coilovers? Do I use them with factory struts/shocks and springs, or do I have to replace them? Also, what is the ride quality like with coilovers?

H&R springs and Koni struts. If you have the money a complete set of tein coil overs.
