Here is my tough question!

Hello all:
So after driving the TLS for a while, I feel that it has some tendency to float a bit and dive under braking a bit more than I would like.
I understand that this a heavy car and is by no means a civic, s I should expect some dive, roll and squat.

Yet, I need to stiffen it up a bit to counteract the dive while marinating ride height (no lowering)

I managed to solve this issue in an accord before by upgrading to stiffer struts/shocks (OEM springs), put in some new trailing arms and new ball joints...etc.

But this is heavier car and only upgrading the struts to stiffer ones may not be enough (and there is a risk of straining the struts to much).
My questions is : will i get away with just upgrading the struts/shocks to say, koni adjustable? or will I need to also change the springs. and in the latter case, do you know of nay stiffer than OEM springs that would maintain the same ride height (or lower just a bit) and would also have only 20-30% increase in stiffness?
Thanks

That would have a lateral effect . I was thinking more of front to back.

after market springs/shocks (or coilovers) and rear sway bars. you'll be set.

H&R OE are a subtle drop. H&R sports are 1.75in/1.5in front and back.

stiffness is determined by shocks, not springs. look into tokico illuminas because they have ajustable dampening at a reasonable price.

Get coilovers. Then you can adjust your height - and stiffness too if you get the Tein SS.

Better shocks alone will help that are adjustable rebound and dampening. I would also go with lowering springs. If you effectively lower the height of the car there will be less to dive. The least amount would be the H&R OE sport. then i would also look into sways.

Like they said or Tein H Tech but as far as springs go I've always like Eibach over anything else

Big learning curve

Hello all:
Thanks for all the responses. I will now do the research on the springs/struts setups, since it seems that I would not be able to get away with only changing the struts/shocks.

I am learning form this, but here is a question:
1. How would sway bas help with dive (front to back)?

Thanks

All float that I had went away with my HR Sport spring install. I'm on stock struts still, but upgraded the springs

Yup. Nose dive and rear squat were gone once I put on Tein H-Techs on my stock struts.

Upgrade your sway bars and lower it and the vehicle will react entirely different. You can help yourself out a little more too by getting some better tires. The Michelin's are soft, quiet, and last long but they are horrible for handling.
