Help: Stock: 2002 Tl Type-s Ssm

thanks in advance for everyones help!
After reading all the posts, it looks like i will be ordering H&R Sport Springs part#50103. Should i change out the struts or leave them? if everyone convinces me to change them, i was thinking about Tokico Adjustables because i want to do my best to retain the feel of the "stock ride."
i will be buying some 19" rims this week, Racing Hart Pro J8.

i dont want these rims to stick out. what width should i get? 19x8 or 19x9?

i dont want to roll my fenders.

what offset do i need?

I believe H&R advertises their springs as 30% stiffer than stock. I felt a little bit of improvement with the Sport springs (50103), but not too much.

If you can swing the money, then you might as well go all out and get new struts, too. Do it right the first time, ya know? Or you could spend just a little bit more and get coilovers. I just put in my Tein SS and EDFC this past week after having them sitting in my room for 8 weeks, and I couldn't be happier. Tein SS isn't that much more expensive than a set of springs and struts. And since coilovers are engineered from the beginning to work as one unit, unlike putting together different brands of springs and struts, it has an advantage in that department, too. They are also available for overhaul, so you can send them in to Tein and have them rebuilt. I paid 850 shipped.

Pro J8 is an excellent choice on the TL. I'm not familiar with their width and offset selections, but between 8" and 9", you must go with 8". Nine inches will be way too wide for the TL's wheelwells.

At 8", you will need an offset of about 45 to 50 to avoid any rubbing. But you could also cut the tabs and roll the fenders to accommodate them.

Hope that helped. Welcome to the forum, by the way.

Hell, no. It would be impossible to install it by myself. I had a friend help me.
