Help

I have a 2000 TL and have begun looking for some new tires because the Michelins that are on it are starting to Dry rot. I was looking at tires today and wanted to see if I could stay with the OEM wheels 16" however increase the width
from 205 to 225 or 235 and change the height from a 60 to a 45 or 50. I would love to make the complete change of tires and wheels however the $$$ are a little tight right now. Any way I looked at Yokohama Avids and Potenza Pole positions and liked what I saw however was told that this would effect the car.
I know it may do a little to the speedometer however was told it would effect the abs system. Is this true and will it effect other aspects of the car? I am not planning to make the change until next year and could use some insight and suggestions. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

jjf, welcome to the board. I would highly suggest to you that you use the "search" function on the board. You will find hundreds of posts on this topic and how people like their particular setup. You will need to take into account our stock wheels are very narrow and we are limited in tire choices. Good luck. Trust me, you will have more than enough info to chew on and make an informed choice on which route you go.
