H&R Sport Springs...Remove???
Hey guys,
I just purchased a 02 TL S w/the springs already installed. I've had the car for about 3 weeks but I can't seem to get used to the rough ride. Despite the remarkable handling I'm thinking about having them removed but not really having a basis of comparison for the smoothness of the ride w/o the springs I wanted to get your feed back on whether or not I should proceed.
Additionally, I've noticed a couple of threads mentioning that the installation of the springs can cost upto $300, any ideas on what it might cost me to have them removed?

shouldnt cost much more than $100 for that - where do you live at? Do you have the stock springs? I would trade you my stock springs for your HR springs...just PM me if you are interested.

I could somewhat feel the difference between stock suspension and with H&R Sport springs (on stock struts).
H&R claims that it is 30% stiffer than stock and it feels like it. But unless the road condition is really horrible, you won't feel much of a difference.
If you like the lowered look, then keep it, because the difference in ride comfort will not change much. If you don't care about the lowered look, and just want to get more comfortable ride no matter how little of an improvement, then switch back to stock.
As for the work, it really depends on your location. Some places are just cheaper than other areas geographically (California vs. Michigan, for example). If you're tight on cash, then try to find a member in your area to help you out.

Thanx i appreaciate all the comments. I do prefer the lowered look but if any of you are familiar with the streets of nyc you know that we dont have the smoothest of roads so i'd prefer going with a softer ride, the H&R just feel terrible, even my girls 99 galant feels ALOT smoother.
I'm still waiting to here back from the original owner who has the springs but may have already sold them. But if anyone is interested in the springs let me know.

Anyone know how much OEM springs sell for, for a 2002 Type S? or Have a website that I can check. I'm trying to get a price, to compare it to what I'm buying them for used.

If not, I have a set that you can use. I have no use for them and they are just collecting dust.
By the way, Michigan roads are just as bad.
