Coilover Preperation for Winter?

Coilover Preperation for Winter?
I have Tein Basic Coilovers and here in Toronto, Canada we get some crazy winters some days, meaning that trucks come out and dump huge amounts of salt on our roads. The question I want to ask is, what should I do to properly prepare my coilovers from the salt and general corrosion in the winter?
I've heard of spraying WD-40 prior to the winter season and spraying them down with water once or twice a week would keep them in good shape.
Let me hear more opinions from you guys!

you can do whatever you want...I raise mine almost to stock, cuz snow gets all caught up in the wheel wells.. I have Tein SS... I soak the whole threaded part of the coilover with oil/lubricant..I just wash my car regularly, i have never had a problem adjusting them after winter...I live in Upstate, NY so we see our fair share of snow..

Here is what i did to my new coilovers last winter.
Go to Canadian Tire and buy a can of RUSTPROOF spray, very thick and does not come off even if you run it through a car wash.
Secondly, spray a product call SHIELD on, it made by Duplicolor i believe, it's meant as a clear spray on/wash off shield that people spray on thier bumper for long trips.
I found the combiation of both put a thick rust proof oily shield over the coils.
in the spring, take off your wheels, and put your car on jack stands and pressure wash off the gunky oil and your coils will look good, no rust.
hope it helps
